“Perfume are people who have worked even harder and sweated more properly than we have, and that sparkle they have — of course, it’s not just one single color. It shines because there are all sorts of struggles and stories behind it. Somehow, once again, I realized just how much I truly love them.”

Japan Christmas song that I’ve been hearing every time I walk around the malls in Kyoto in the evenings for dinner. I recognize the song from one of my favorite j-dramas, From Five to Nine, starring Satomi Ishihara and Tomohisa Yamashita.
The song, Nishifuji Park 西藤公園 by Back Number, reminds me of Twiyor so much I want to try to make it into a song fic.
In short, it's about a man who could not speak his feelings out loud.
Spoiler alert, because how could I not put scenes of ch.86 into something that has reminded me of TwiYor.
Lyrics:
"I love Winter. Whenever I speak, my words take shape and emerge into this palpable white fog."
How silly. I stood beside you, thinking.
And just like the misty cloud I breathed out, my thoughts floated up and disappeared mid-air.
With your head always bowed down, is it why my feelings never get through?
If I can hold you now and tell you that it's alright, will it make any difference?
Musing on the busy streets beneath and the starry sky above, do you think we can paint over the past?
My hand has been reaching for you. I wonder if you've noticed.
You'll probably never say that I'm extraordinary.
But I hope you'd tell me I am enough.
Even if the torrents of our lives engulf us,
Amid the flood, I will salve the tears you've cried. (1)
Let me battle against your perplexities.
That last step we couldn't take. The one we assumed to be the end
is the one that starts new beginnings.
(I love Winter.)
I hesitate as I get closer to you.
It's fine even if I am scourged.
I'll always be here.
Although I'm a bit indirect, I'll try to be as honest as possible
Even if I have to wait till the coming Spring:
I love Winter.
And I... (2)
Notes:
My favourite interpretation of this line is inspired by a dialogue in The Dream of the Red Chamber, "Of the boundless waters among the three thousand realms, I only need a ladle of it." He doesn't need to have everything. One is enough to quench all his thirst.
To put it simply, Japanese is an SOV language (subject + object + verb). This song ends with 僕は君が, with "I" as the subject, "you" as the object, and the verb is left unsaid. What is left unspoken in this song is finally expressed in Back Number's another song, Flower Bouquet 花束: 僕は君が好きだよ.
Apparently the song doesn't have any versions of English translations so I have to do it myself... (shooketh) I mostly base my translation on these two posts (Source: 1, 2).
