Help me wish my husband a happy birthday. If you’re new to my page. Surprise I am married! My husband’s name is Chris so if you see or hear me mention that name now you know. 😉 He had one request of me today and that was to have breakfast with his wife so that is what we did. His other request was for Jack Jack to wear his bandanna. He thinks he looks so handsome in it. Jack hates it and usually tries to bite it, but he left it on long enough for me to get some photos of the two of them. Tomorrow Chris and I will have a mini photoshoot as well. In honor of National Wear Red day. I pulled this red number from the archives. Most of you know I suffer from blood clots and pulmonary embolism, which is due to a protein S deficiency that was triggered by taking birth control to control my fibroids. Yeah, I know how wild that sounds, but I am not alone. Blood clots left untreated can lead to cardiovascular diseases such as heart attacks and strokes. These diseases cause 1 in 3 deaths in women every year making it the number one health related killer in women. So this is near and dear to my heart. “Perfection doesn’t leave room for growth.” Introvertstylist ⠀ That’s what I keep telling myself every time I look at this waist band. This is my first caftan. I never really thought this was my style of fashion, but I am not afraid to try something new. The project called for some hand stitching at the waist and I have to say that isn’t my strongest sewing technique. I have to redo the stitching because it’s uneven, but the fact that I can see that shows growth, right? ⠀ I don’t claim to know everything, but what I do know and have learned I am willing to share. ⠀ So my one bit of advice is make a Muslin of a pattern. If you aren’t sure what that is it is basically a first draft of a sewing pattern. You work out the kinks before you use your desired fabric with a pattern you may not even like. It’s no different than trying on clothes. You test out patterns to see if they work for your style and body type and if they don’t back on the shelf they go. But you don’t want to waist your good fabric on an experiment that could go wrong so purchase similar cheaper fabric to try out first. 🤗 ⠀ How are you working on your growth today? ⠀ Make sure to check out my IGTV.
