My father loves those shitty B rated "horror" movies. Lavalantula, Sharknado, Anacondas, Sharktapus.... they fucking SUCK SO MUCH and he adores them for their shittiness XD I personally cant stand them and try to avoid them whenever possible. Ill admit, there have been a couple I liked but for the most part.... blech.
I need help find in a movie!!
It was a B-Rated Horror movie from the early/mid 2000s. It starts with a flashback scene of a brother & sister as children playing a game where they put their pet hamster (?) in dangerous locations, accidentally killing it. It then flash forwards to the sister coming home from I believe college with her boyfriend & the family starts getting killed off; the murderer being the brother not wanting anyone to get in between him & his sister as sheâs the only one, according to him, who understands him.
Horror fans please interact. Iâm having a very hard time finding a movie I watched when I was a kid. It mustâve come out late 90s, early 2000s and stared a female killer who worked at a movie theatre. I remember towards the begging she was talking with a talent agent (maybe?) and ended up killing her with a pen or something and the security footage streamed to the theatre where people were watching it. All the patrons loved the movie and asked for more so she started making snuff films and showing them off like they were fake and just fun movies she made. I remember one of the movies she was going to chop off a womanâs head with a guillotine but her head wouldnât fit so they just chopped her tits off with it. She kept all the bodies in the attic of her theatre and at one point people started noticing because blood was dripping from the ceiling. In the end she got all of her patrons to drink poisoned punch (acid maybe?) and was going to film them melting to be her biggest film yet. Iâve been searching for days and canât find it, any help would be greatly appreciated :)
Letâs talk about cheeeesy horror movies
In honor of the movie I watched last night titled âThe Odds,â I think it is time for me to make a post about the infinite amount of B-rated horror movies currently available for our viewing pleasure.
As someone who loves to be scared, I am constantly in search of a thrill and with all the streaming services there are now and I swear I have them all (Hulu, Netflix, Vudu, Amazon Prime, Xfinity, Peacock, the list goes on) finding a âscaryâ movie is easy.
Finding a quality movie that actually elicits fear is not so simple.

So let me define what I mean by âbadâ before I start just bashing movies lmao.
According to deinitions.net, a âB-rated movie is a low-budget commercial motion picture that is not definitively an arthouse or pornographic film.â An arthouse film is a film that is made with the intention of being taken seriously.
So I think itâs safe to say that B-rated horror movies are meant to be laughed at. (Thank you based god, I thought I was just an asshole with standards that are too high.)

With that said, I think there is a very fine line between cheesy and downright awful. Â
The movie I mentioned earlier âThe Oddsâ is a good example of cheesy. The movie revolves around a damaged woman who has joined an underground game where contestants are basically tortured until they tap out, and the last player standing wins a million dollars.
The plot is original which is why I gave it a chance, and though there were some cringy moments, overall it wasnât completely terrible. I scoffed at some of the interactions between the two main characters but it wasnât a movie that had me making fun of it the entire time. And the gore/violence seemed fairly realistic given the budget.

8/10 times the movies I choose to watch, whether alone or with others, is a thriller/horror. I always give films I pick a chance because I find that I am often pleasantly surprised by even some of the worst movies.
Also I am a stickler for production companies because I can know what to expect before the movie even begins.
âTucker and Dale vs Evilâ will forever be my favorite B-rated horror film.
While cheesy scary movies arenât my first choice when it comes to movie genres, I think theyâre still worth mentioning because like I said, sometimes you end up being pleasantly surprised.
