"#2 PENCIL" What happened to me? Thus far in life I've been unwrapped Lost my sharpness & eventually my hat Withered down to the frame Chewed up & spit out again What happened to me? Remember when I was new? Remember when you loved me & I was freshly brand new .. I remember when hands hadn't yet touched my body & I seemed a bit more fragile. But ain't I still as delicate as before? Just a bit more experienced & less shiny than before? Been lost now.. You lost me. I been to new school's & office buildings Held in new hands, touched similarly.. But you unwrapped me when I was brand new. What happened to me?
