“Do not,” Arslan hissed, his voice low and venomous. “Do not mourn the steel for being sharp. Do not weep for the arrow because it knows no path but the one it is fired upon. I am what I made myself to be. Your pity is an insult. It suggests I should want to be… something softer. Something less.”
mentioned writing earlier so here is another story i’ve been toying with.
trying to get more practice with cover design while figuring out some rendering things. unfortunately these two have kind of taken over my creativity for now. was struggling to decide if i should post this, since it’s very far from what i usally post but fuck it we ball.
arslan (left) is the heir to the khanate of qirimar, while selim (right) is the crown prince/şehzade of the osmani empire. they’re both conniving little snakes and they need to let go of the muse ball for now so i can roll on for the day. i have a clear favorite tho lolol
arslan is holding a chess piece and georgian-style dagger— two key hints to his personality— while selim is dressed in ottoman-style princely regalia. the cutout in the center is of a king piece.
the first draft of this story ended up being too dark so i’m thinking to try to lighten things up a little? 😬
honestly tho i fear this story will be dissolved and reabsorbed within the larger story i’m working on. unfortunately, arslan is more concrete a character than kip, the protagonist in that one, so i must reattack both stories and see who survives.
