honestly, i'd be so happy if many lewis disparegers just begin their whole paragraph with "i don't like lewis." like, we know, but it would make it much easier to filter out.
also, i think was discussing this with @myungsooism and its frustrating just seeing how much his gender expressions are disrespeced. like, i just want black and nonwhite boys and men to express their gender however they want. they deserve to be soft. they deserve glitter and gold. and all the sugars and spices. we live in a society where black boys and men are killed for being black because blackness automatically associated with criminality and this is even extended to babies (this happened recently btw- a black baby was killed by a police officer, and its absolutely devastating). and yes, its that deep. seeing lewis be incredily open about his feminine side, while not also treating femininity as something contemptuous should always be respected and celebrated. but alas, some people are too racist for the very basic mininimum.
god i felt so sick when i saw that news article i was literally in tears. it's so fucking heartbreaking. the world is already not kind to black men! it is not kind to brown men! we have to let them be soft! let them be sweet and as femme as they want and present in any way that they want! we have to protect them!
it's also very telling when it's these same people ascribing sweetness and softness and queerness (bc they often conflate all of this) to the blandest of white men just bc he's not jacked but you show them a black or brown man with the exact same qualities and traits and suddenly "i just don't see him as femme" why is that! why are they so insistent on forcing black and brown boys and men into these horrible boxes! stop portraying them as aggressive, hypermasculine, hypersexual etc! stop!!!
you're right it really IS that fucking deep. all of it is. and we need to keep calling it out. i don't care if someone "didn't mean to be racist" it's 2026 and i'm sick of the burden of educating others always falling to bipoc. it's not our job to coddle people's feelings while being dehumanized by them and having our identities erased and disrespected. by leaning into his feminine side lewis has shown the world that you do not need to conform to the boxes people force you in. he has inspired so many people - boys and men i know personally!! - to experiment more with their dressing and style and gender expression! that means so much!! he's genuinely so important and intentional with how he dresses and presents himself and i will celebrate that forever.
