Bara to Iris
unrequited mimironia, anyone?
WC: PENIS
“I just...I just think she’s perfect for me!” Glompy said, excited sparkles in his eyes. Those same excited sparkles in his eyes he got whenever he glanced at Shironia. Mimi’s gaze softened, but she didn’t let her smile falter. No. This was for her friend. She wouldn’t stand in the way of him like that.
“I...I think she’s perfect for you too, Glompy!” Mimi stood up. “Let’s go talk to her!”
   “W-What!? Are you insane!?”
“If I was insane, you would be an amputee by this point. Now, let’s go!” Mimi chuckled, grabbing him by the hand, and dragging him over to their bluenette friend.
   “M-Mimi! Wait!”
   “Oh Shironyaaaan~!”
“Huh?” Shironia said, turning around to face the two behind her. “Yes, Mimi? Glompy?” She asked in her usual soft-spoken way. The pink-haired girl turned around, watching the blonde nearly melt in her gaze. She rolled her magenta eyes, before turning back to Shironia.
“Yes, Glompy has something he’d like to say~!” She hummed sweetly, before roughly shoving the taller boy in front of her.
“A-Ah, uh, um…” The blonde stammered, looking left, right, up, down, and every single other direction in an attempt to avoid her gaze. But Shironia quickly managed to lock his amber spheres into place.
“Yes, Glompy?” Shironia giggled, tilting her head to one side sweetly. God, she was so cute. Mimi wanted to just shove Glompy out of the way and propose to her on the spot. But no. Her friends mattered more to her than that. Chances are, she’d reject him anyway.
“Uh...uh…! P-Please, I beg of you!” Glompy suddenly bowed as low as he could, which was still about to Shironia’s neck. “Go out with me!” There it was. Mimi closed her eyes, waiting for the piercing rejection.
“...Sure thing, Glompy!” WHAT. WHAT THE FUCK. HOLY FUCKING FUCK. Mimi opened her eyes, trying not to look as shocked as she was. “That sounds...really fun! I’d love to!”
“Waaah, really!? W-Wowie zowie! Y-You won’t regret this, I swear!” Glompy smiled, turning to Mimi. Fuck. If that didn’t sever her heart, the absolute shine in his smile certainly did.
“I-I’m so happy for you, Glompy!” Mimi chuckled, quietly crossing her fingers behind her back. Oh, she felt so awful for hoping it wouldn’t work out, but she still wished it more than anything.

All the cheering. The crowds, The confetti thrown. Shironia in a flowing white and blue gown, Glompy in a tuxedo of black and gold. The excited hurrying out of the chapel into the limousine below. It seemed like just yesterday they were two lovestruck teenagers, in their beanies and jean jackets and listening to their eight track tapes. Mimi had been named “best man”, or, “best person” as she preferred. Not that she preferred much of the whole event. She watched the duo stumble out of the chapel. First, Shironia, followed by Glompy at a slightly more wobbly pace. But he stopped, turning to face the pink-haired girl in her exquisitely pink gown. He took her hand, and smiled.
“K-Kuru...I just...I want to say thank you for everything. W-Without you, I wouldn’t have gotten to be here, on this day. I...I owe you my life.” Glompy said, the dopiest grin on his face. Mimi smiled, biting back all the hurtful words she knew she shouldn’t say, couldn’t say.
“No problem, Glompy! You know me, matchmaker Mimi Kurumi! Now…” She flung her hand in the direction of the limosuine. “Go! Your bride awaits!”
“...” Glompy stared down the stairs below, before turning back to Mimi. “...Thanks, Kuru.” He smiled, tears in his eyes, before practically leaping down the entire flight to bounce into the vehicle. Mimi watched it drive off, and the smile very quietly fell off her perfectly-glossed lips.
“...Yeah, thanks. Thanks for taking her away from me.”
