So the whole thing about Superman vs Supergirl is about the characters being attractive. I personally think both actors are incredibly attractive, I’d let both smash me. However, people only focus on Superman because not only is he FINE but he’s also cute and silly and quirky. He’s what people expected. His film also doesn’t really delve into very heavy topics. Yes, it deals with racism (immigrants and stuff) but the ending is light. I still liked this film better, but I’ll get onto Supergirl now. Supergirl is grittier because her character has been through a lot more. She’s a drunk because she wants to forget everything. And she’s reluctant to be a hero because she’s seen what attempting to save a life can lead to. She just wants her dog and some booze and then to go home. But then she ends up entangled in this whole other thing - a girl wanting to get revenge for her father and a group of girls being trafficked. The plots are so vastly different that the two aren’t really comparable, same with their characters. The only reason people are shitting on the Supergirl film is because they think she’s ugly and she’s wearing shorts under her skirt. It’s because it wasn’t pleasing to sexist, sick men who view any female superhero character as fan service to ogle at. And it pisses me off. Supergirl encompasses that doing the right can mean getting ugly. Now, I found some faults in the film, but it’s not because of the reasons I’ve just stated.

In Spider-Man: Far From Home, there’s this whole thing about Mysterio becoming the next Iron Man, even though Tony left everything to Spider-Man. Because he groomed him. Tony took advantage of a 14 year old Peter Parker because he saw that he had powers and took him illegally to Germany to fight Team Cap in favour of the Sokovia Accords. Mind you, he didn’t tell Peter what he was fighting for. He left him in the dark purposefully.

Repeatedly, people in Far From Home say that the world needs a new Iron Man. But Iron Man doesn’t stand for anything. He doesn’t stand for justice, he doesn’t stand for equality, he doesn’t stand for freedom or heroism. He’s just a rich guy who wanted to save his own skin. But Spider-Man is Marvel’s most popular character for a reason. Even when he was just in a comic, he quickly took over the Fantastic Four in popularity.

So I’ve been watching a lot of Marvel stuff recently and I’ve come up with some thoughts about heroes and stuff. I wanted to share them with yall.
