On the way back from President’s Ball, Mikey and Ash decided that we would all go to karaoke the next weekend. I lost my voice during the night, so I didn’t say anything. But the thought of spending another weekend with Mikey and Ash’s control freak qualities scared the heck outta me.
The next weekend, some other friends invited me to hang out with them. I had a huge test on Monday, so I declined both this and karaoke and studied Friday night instead. In the middle of my studying I went for a run on the indoor track. I was surprised to see Lee Chi below the track, practicing his baseball swing. (He’s thin, but he’s wiry!) I shouted to him:
“Yooo! Why aren’t you at karaoke?”
After I repeated this until he understood what I said and saw that I was talking to him, he said with a twinge of ‘Tude, “Someone bailed.”
I pretended to play dumb. “Oh really? Who?”
He pointed up at the track. “You.” He lowered his arm of accusation. “HoofClaw was crying earlier.” Crying? Really? He has GOT to be kidding.
“You have GOT to be kidding.” Lee Chi shook his head. Nope. Not kidding. I thought that it was a super chill, come only if ya want sort-of-thing. I apologized and kept running.
Huh. Maybe I was a dingbat. I felt like I was a bit of a crudbucket. But I finished my run well, and saw everyone involved the next night. *Da Da Dummm*
