Hello! I'm Jo and this is my Awegust Introduction. I haven't done anything like this before and this is a new blog, so I'm a tad bit nervous, but I thought I would give it a go!

I write mostly fanfictions, but I have an original wip that is now starting to take more of the limelight. Metamorphosis is a Resident Evil: Village, Karl Heisenberg x OC, fanfiction that I am pretty much pantsing, but I love it to death.

My original wip is temporarily named The Veil. It's about a hybrid vampire-witch, Lenore, is given a job by the suspicious vampire Count, Ambrose to steal a certain item for him that is rather important. Ambrose sends a faerie (whose name I haven't been able to figure out yet) to go with Lenore so she doesn't do anything funny with his boon. Then a bunch of stuff about saving the world happens, ya know.

My favorite genres are fantasy, horror, and some sci-fi. I generally write fluff with absolute torment.

I am a sucker for all kinds of tropes. Enemies to lovers, love triangles, betrayal, having that one character who is considered to be very wise. Redemption arcs are my fave, I think.

hey there, I’m Enchant, a hybrid writeblr. I’m mostly a fanfic writer with original projects on the side. I’m open to read any genre, which is why I’m a fan of many ppl around here in writeblr! like y’all got great stuff I love seeing on mah dash. ✨

my main original WIPs consists of the following: a contemporary new adult, which is currently on it’s first draft. and the other is a pirate fantasy, which is on the brainstorming phase, so it’s going to take me awhile to make more content for that.

so, for this week, these people are the following recs:

@47crayons, she’s got cool chaotic neutral characters going through angst in her WIPS! she’s got beautiful prose, and is a genius with words! I highly recommend The Wicked Within, if you’re looking for messed up people growing close together! ✨

@writing-is-a-martial-art, then here’s Oleg, who writes stuff with the wackiest storylines, which packs a punch for entertainment! from a fantasy school with different creatures, they provide adventures which I revel deeply in. also chaos is everywhere in their stories and it’s hilarious to a TEA. ✨

To the first two mentioned, together (yes, me included), we’re the PowerPuff Angsters who like making characters go through stuff! why?? for plot. 😂

@magic-is-something-we-create, ah, and there’s Pax! he’s got worldbuilding down in a nutshell, and his current WIP, Firebreathers, is a great mix of everything?? u want ppl tryna save their skins?? this WIP’s got it! you want humor blended in with beautiful prose?? well then, Pax’s got your back! ✨

@viskafrer, who’s got Color Me Gone and is a lovely presence around the writeblr community! she’s got a main character with the right amount of flair and sass, who I like deeply. also her WIP carries a sense of intrigue that makes me eager to know more. she’s awesome and keeps this community going. ✨

Hi there, I’m Peggy! I write YA urban and contemporary fantasy, but I’m open to reading all sorts of genres! Some of my favorite tropes include found family, deconstructions of the hero/villain paradigm, magic systems that toe the line between fantasy and horror, religious imagery/symbolism, and did I mention found family?

@keen2meecha is one of the sweetest, kindest writers who is gifted ;) with the ability to juggle an enormous cast of diverse, charming, and fun characters with ease.

@angelolytle‘s writing features incredible LGBTQ+ casts, beautiful worldbuilding, and thoughtfully-executed elements of horror that never fail to draw me in.

Hi, I'm Rory! I mainly write fantasy and sci-fi, especially superheroes/villains! I love taking classic tropes and stories and seeing how I can turn them upside down, coming up with unique powers/abilities that can add to the plot in new ways, and I'm also a sucker for a good enemies-to-lovers, found family, or being gay doing crimes story.

I also draw art of my characters!

Hello, hello friends!

Sorry I’m a little late, but here’s my introduction for @awegust ! I’m excited to participate and get to know some of y’all better!!!!!

First of all, my name’s Annastasia! I go by Arisa too if you’re not cool with real names ^^. I write YA Fantasy, Creative Nonfiction, and Poetry, and sometimes I dabble in a little fanfiction too! 

Right now, I’m putting most of my attention on an unnamed fanfiction for the mobile Otome game, Obey Me. It follows the main storyline of the game, but with a group of three toxic bad bitches scheming to join the human exchange student program, seduce the seven Lords of Hell and their Prince, and take over the kingdom before their nails dry. 

But my usual main WIP is called Cynical Chaos! It’s a YA Fantasy piece I’ve been working on for the last 12 years. It follows the protag, Ariana, as she leads a group of other superpowered kids (and the alien creatures attached to them) against the corrupt government organization, Panacea, while she struggles to cope with the pressures and mental anguish of war. I just finished the most recent draft last month, so look forward to some snippets!!!

When it comes to my favorite tropes, it’s definitely genre specific. But in general, my favorites are Found Family, Angst with a Happy Ending, Subverting Stereotypes, Social Commentary, Ensemble Casts, Slow-Burn, Disabled Perspectives, Mutual Pining, Monsters (anything Supernatural really), Super Powers, and Antiheroes. Also, idk what this would be called, but Finding Empowerment through Traditionally Negative Things (You know like the Montero mv????? Where we’re embracing the toxic belief that Gays Go to Hell, turning it on its head, and making it empowering? Yeah that’s my shit).
