so here’s where i’m at with respect to the sequel trilogy.
what i consider ooc and therefor Not Blog Canon: how luke reacted to ben’s descent to the dark side. that luke would ever run away from his problems to hermit himself away, particularly in cutting himself off from leia and the force. how he acted around rey, and that he had to be coaxed into teaching her at all. death by astral projection is dumb as hell.
there are other things i would change if i had, you know, been in charge, but on this blog anything else is not really my business. i’ll leave it up to you folks.
what i’m thinking instead:
frankly i don’t see myself writing with ben/kylo ren any time soon, so it’s hard to say what i think the inciting incident should have been instead. i think to be in line with luke’s actual flaws, ben would have to provoke him or threaten another person before luke would lash out at him.
i will loosely consider all or most of his students to be dead in this timeline, although i deeply hate it as a plot device
luke goes to ahch-to specifically to research and help the resistance, exploring the powerful force presence and ancient jedi knowledge there. he hasn’t been gone as long as the st suggests.
i figure he’s also. you know. not Dead. but to be honest, if anyone’s like “no i want ghost luke,” i’m chill with that
the main (dare i say the only?) thing i’m interested in out of this verse is building relationships with st kids. i want luke and rey to actually have a bond. i want luke to have known poe growing up, because of his friendship with shara and kes. I WANT HIM TO MEET AND MENTOR FINN ??? let him meet rose and jannah too. just.... grabby hands
