You know how you have those days where you've got a therapy session scheduled and you're feeling fine and honestly even wondering a little why you're in therapy, but you go because you know it's good for you? Today was one of those days. You know those days where you go to therapy and feel fine, so you have no idea what to talk about? But your therapist knows you, so they poke at a previous topic like poking a crack in a dam with a stick, and the crack just starts spreading while water begins to seep out? And the crack eventually reaches a spot that's been hastily patched about a dozen times over the past 30 years and is only just holding together, but the surface has been pretty well-maintained in the last decade, so you don't really know how poorly- fixed that spot is? So when the crack finally splits the outer surface of that one patch, the pressure behind breaks it open and the water just sprays out madly and breaks a bunch of nearby spots, too, revealing that they've all actually been one break all along? And now the water's really rushing out everywhere, but you're beginning to see what caused the break and getting a feel for the flow? — And your therapist says "I've got another client, so I've gotta go; here's your homework and I'll see ya next time? Today was also one of those days.
