"Tearing oneself away from one's desire like that, mere moments after ingesting the moon-milk, would be a heart-rending experience...."
Avulsion also got me thinking about Poor Edward OBVIOUSLY, I'm always insisting he deserves more credit for his truly bonkers willpower while under the influence but I'm just not sure he could've been normal for this
My new Fallen London Exceptional Story, Avulsion, is out now!
Ten words in heavy gold letters adorn the back of the invitation. ‘EVERYTHING LOST WILL BE LOVED; EVERYTHING LOVED WILL BE LOST.’
The Shuttering Photographer is spoken of highly in certain circles; they say her tricolour photographs are more vivid than life itself. Her latest exhibition, a meditation on love and grief, is open now – and invites an unusual level of audience participation. Will you give up control over the compass of your heart? Will you hold on tightly to loves old and new? For all is not well in the Sunken Gallery, and few can be trusted to find the truth…

Sometimes, Fallen london can have very hard choices
“Calm yourself, please, Albatross— and tell me; what on Earth happened in that gallery?”
Avulsion still isn’t leaving my mind and my FLPC (right) is paying the price— I have decided the friend referred to in the basement ending recovery arc is my other OC (left) and decided to draw them :3

Thinking about Harrow's perspective on the conversation after the avulsion trial. I suspect when Harrow decided to go through with avulsion it was on the assumption that, if it came down to the wire, Gideon would slap her greedy little necromantic hands off and let Harrow die rather than kill her. The assumption that Gideon’s strong sense self-preservation—which she definitely does have, having survived growing up on the Ninth—would assert itself, and therefore the life most at risk in the trial was Harrow's.
I think the aftermath of this trial is the first time Harrow realises that she can't necessarily trust Gideon to look after herself first. But...
....does she realize to what extent?
The avulsion trial was the first time Gideon was given the choice between her life and Harrow's, and the first time she threw herself into choosing Harrow. Did Harrow know?
How was Harrow looking at Gideon? How much insight did she have on her in this scene, and how much did it scare her?
