The languages of the country varied, from dwarvish all over the continent but particularly in the central regions and draconic and dialects of gnomish relegated to the mountains, to abyssal and elvish spoken in the northeast, to giant and other dialects of gnomish and primordial spoken in the west.
Some of these languages were completely wiped out and some were changed so as to be completely different from their original by the arrival of humans, who brought with them common.
These days, the main languages spoken are common, dwarvish, elvish, and draconic, with giant and gnomish having fused into a language known as northern dwarvish, a language in the norgar plains, and primordial having migrated primarily to the western plateau.
