Mogi endearing himself to L by taking on the massive amounts of paperwork without complaint (I imagine L would never want to stoop to doing that himself):

L chooses him to act as Misa’s manager after Matsuda messes up:

This is probably my favourite Mogi moment of all, when he forces himself to overcome his shyness in order to play an extremely bubbly role, what an inspiration and a Mood™:

He’s always extremely sweet to / patient with Misa:

Too bad she dupes him by pulling the ol’ switcheroo with her nurse friend and gives him the duck:

He teamed up with Wedy and Aiber to help apprehend Higuchi:

And went out with Soichiro after the chase to arrest Higuchi:

This was his reaction to seeing Rem for the first time:

And he was the one who handed the notebook to L:

And he caught Higuchi when he died:

I love this panel because it perfectly illustrates how quiet he is. He really doesn’t talk unless he absolutely has to, even when everyone else is giving their opinions. But his face usually indicates how he feels about things:

He offered to get L an ambulance (and Soichiro was going to be his stand-in dad), aww:

He was the home base for the team in Japan when they went to get Sayu back from Mello:

He helped tracked down Mello’s hideout because of chocolate, lmao:

He was part of the team that stormed Mello’s base:

And was the one to help Soichiro when he was injured (as a side note, dag that’s harsh for poor Matsuda lol):

He tried to give Light and Soichiro more privacy when Soichiro was dying in the hospital:

And he researched EVERY LICENSED AND UNLICENSED DOCTOR IN THE WORLD just to find Mello’s possible medical records:

He was known for being the team member who would never say anything unnecessary (and once again, lol at Matsuda):

And was chosen by Mello to come visit him (orrrr visit Near) in NYC:

I find it weirdly cute that Mogi brought Mello and Near into a tentative sort of collaboration here:

And that Mello describes Mogi as well-built to him:

Also cute that Near is impressed by Mello’s plan:

Light respects Mogi as someone trustworthy who can’t be tricked into giving away information:

And indeed, he never makes a single peep under Near’s initial interrogation:

He got to wear some cool riot gear when escaping the Kira fanatics with the SPK:

And then he got kidnapped by Near and given a brief fake death and some duct tape over his mouth, lol:

He impresses Near by finally talking (plus looks dang good in general, check out that jawline and that collarbone):

He teams up with Aizawa to investigate Misa (I just love the weird thug looks they’re giving the security camera lol):

Here’s another favourite moment, when Aizawa admits he knows he’s not as ripped as Mogi and then Misa tells him he’s not as cute without his ‘fro. I also think it’s like the only time we ever see Mogi laugh:

He takes over keeping an eye on Misa and takes her out shopping while Matt spies on the both of them:

And makes her the most AMAZING MEALS, I’m extremely jealous and think she should’ve appreciated it more!:

He instantly recognized Takada as one of Light’s old university girlfriends:

And also showed his trustworthy nature yet again when he explained that he’d only ever told L about all that stuff:

He successfully evaded Matt’s watchful eye and got Misa to the airport in a food delivery truck:

And then joined forces with the SPK whilst continuing to watch over an increasingly childish Misa with the patience of a saint:

And stood with the SPK when it came to the warehouse showdown:

His reaction to the tense 40 second wait for the Death Note to take effect:

He attempted in vain to put Light in handcuffs after he’d proven himself guilty:

And this is his reaction to Light’s maniacal laughter:

He helped restrain Matsuda after Light was shot:

And helped the others attempt to arrest Light (before Ryuk got to him first):

I’m very glad that Mogi made it out alive and seemed to be doing well in the final chapter!:
