if you're still doing the ask meme, 26 for lawlight? thank u
First time they talked about living together
i’m tempted to call the meeting where L brings up the handcuffs arrangement their first “living together” discussion but i’m sure that’s not what you meant. the first time they talk about cohabitation, it’s L that offers for Light to just move in with him which is also a very silly way for him to put things since, at the time, he didn’t have a permanent residence. however, Light enjoys lavish hotels as much as the next person and agreed on the condition that in a year, they find a real house.
“don’t you want to go home?” he asks L when the detective questioned the need for a house. L chews on that for a while before finding that, well, yes. he really wanted to go home for the first time.
5, 8, 45 for L! thank u
5. On an average day, what can be found in your character’s pockets?
Biscuit crumbs, at least one candy wrapper, his phone and a rubber band to occasionally play with
8. Has your character ever fired a gun? If so, what was their first target?
Yes, I do think so. His first target probably was a wooden shooting target and I doubt that he ever shot anything (or anyone) else. He appreciates the efficiency of guns but he prefers to not avoid them or to at least let other people use them.
45. What does your character believe will happen to them after they die? Does this belief scare them?
I think L was pretty much atheistic before the Kira case and thought that he would just cease to exist. Spirituality, religion, afterlife were never topics he cared much about. I think he revaluated some of his previous beliefs but never even thought about changing anything about his life style. Whatever would happen to him after death, doesn’t concern him as long as he’s alive. Probably thought that his mortality was more the problem of other people than his own, most likely. Still, I’m absolutely certain that everyone fears death in some way or another - it just wasn’t tied to any specific belief in L’s case. He simply doesn’t like to think of himself as mortal.
if you have time, can i request mangacaps of Good Mogi Moments?
Yesss, I love him so much, he’s the unsung hero of the Task Force, he did so much important stuff and he’s a big sweetheart and very brave, and he really deserves a bit more love!
THE BEST MOGI MOMENTS:
I think this is the first time we ever see him:
A rare Mogi smile, excited to be one of the good guys:
He wasn’t around a lot in the first bit of the story because he was always off doing the grunt work by himself for L… a pattern we will see repeat many times:
He was chosen to tail Light by L:
And was the one to witness Light’s excessive womanizing:
He was the one to apprehend Misa after she ventured onto campus:
And he bravely chose to quit the police once they no longer supported the Kira investigation:
This bit made me laugh, I guess Matsuda can’t relate to Mogi’s quiet personality:
26, 27, 30 for light!
How does the character behave around children?
Light is popular with children bc he engages with them. he’s a practiced pretend listener, so they can chat with him for a while without him getting tired (since nothing they say is actually getting through to him, he’s on autopilot). but in the long run, Light doesn’t rlly enjoy children bc they don’t have the capacity to engage him back so, much like L, he just doesn’t rlly want to be around them.
How does the character normally deal with confrontation?
he both loves and loathes confrontation all depending on his preparedness. if he’s ready to be confronted, Light thrives on the challenge and anticipation. he delights in winning whatever arguments or difficulties come out of confrontations he knew were coming. on the other hand, when he’s caught off guard with a confrontation, he hates it and will obsess over what he could’ve done to forsee or change the outcome. however, he’s learned to be quick on his feet and rare is the confrontation that doesn’t end in Light’s favor.
What does the character find repulsive or disgusting?
weak moral backbone. poor hygiene. unmotivated or lazy people who complain. dirty fingernails. people who can’t think for themselves. the deep structural injustices created by a lazy justice system being unable to perform as he, personally, sees fit.
