only after the split that gave them separate bodies they started to develop differently from each other (and ‘to protect’ is emphasized for garvith a bit from the get go as it was the initial reason for the split) // and when nerice was destroyed they hadn’t been their own persons very long and the way they experienced it and felt about it are pretty much identical !!!! & this is so important bcos reina’s loss is very much dealt with in canon as she has people to talk to, though on the other hand, due to garvith never taking a human form and even refusing to communicate with anyone from the new world he gets much less focus in that regard. at least until he meets avery who one way or another shares that pain w/ him, even more after she inherits all of his memories and i kinda sorta really want to pick this up again for dream game reivery scenes !!!

also lucie accidentally seeing it bcos it happens once when she loses control of her powers? which well, she knows avery is the echo in some way already but afterwards it gets even harder to deny/ignore
