i'm a 24yo (she/her) casual writer and artist and i'm new to the writeblr scene. i want to get connected with other writers in the community!

about me: i’ve got a bachelor’s degree in psychology and hope to one day pursue a career in mental health research. i’m a taurus sun and rising with a capricorn moon. besides writing, i like cats, space, singing, and Reese Mini’s. i have a dozen house plants and they each have names.

what i write: my two main genres are superhero and murder. sometimes both at the same time.

current projects and WIPs:

UnSuper Squad: a series about a group of disaster zillenials with superpowers form a ragtag crime-fighting vigilante team in a city that fears people like them. (this is my main Big Project and what i’m most likely going to be posting about.)

Alloy (working title): dysfunctional twins gain superpowers in a freak accident, including the power to fuse into a single, powerful being, and must learn to work together to solve a murder. (i finished the first draft a while ago but then had an idea for a sequel, which i’m currently working on.)

Average Angie: the non-powered younger sister of a superhero is thrust into her brother’s world of action and danger when their father’s murderer resurfaces. (wrote a first draft, Did Not Like It, and am giving it a dramatic makeover.)

Miracle Girl: a comic-book enthusiast’s dreams come true when she meets a real-life superhero. there’s also a murder in this one. (first draft is done, but god know if i’ll ever get around to editing it.)

Guardians of Inter-dimensional Integrity (GIDI): a pair of sisters travel through a portal to a parallel dimension and find themselves in the aftermath of an inter-dimensional war. (haven’t written a single word of this yet, but i’ve got a crapload of worldbuilding. oddly enough, there are no superheroes or murder in this one.)

Untitled story about four elemental witches, only now learning about their magical responsibilities, scrambling to master their powers and charge/protect a magical crystal to maintain balance in the Force. or... something. (i’m still working on it.)

It was a cold winters morning, but that just meant Joe was up all the earlier. For some people, cold weather meant longer in bed. However, Joe's excitement meant he was ready to go when he woke up. He asked around and tried to gather some hints, but for the most part, people just gave him strange looks, or laughed. Maybe treasure hunting sounded less reputable to the people here than, say, the term archaeology, but he wasn't going to waste his good mood arguing otherwise. He had treasure to find.

*is on her knees in her fields, pulling some weeds from the soil around her crops, when she hears Gill. She sits up straighter, sees him, and calls back, cupping her dirty gloves around her mouth:* Do I look like I’m slacking? *grins and beckons him over, though she knows he probably won’t want to get his shoes dirty*
