It’s weird how this confluence of bizarre internet things ends up feeling like a genuine avant-guarde art film, of the kind one might see in the process of getting a film degree...

Pere Ubu is zo'n toffe band die nauwelijks te definiëren zijn. Is het punk? Nou nee. Is het New Wave? Ook niet echt. Experimenteel is het zeker en de leden van de band noemen het dan ook lachend avant-garage muziek. Lekker!

Moondog was a blind American composer, musician, poet and inventor of several musical instruments. Moving to New York as a young man, Moondog made a deliberate decision to make his home on the streets there, where he spent approximately twenty of the thirty years he lived in the city. Most days he could be found in his chosen part of town wearing clothes he had created based on his own interpretation of the Norse god Odin. Thanks to his unconventional outfits and lifestyle, he was known for much of his life as "The Viking of 6th Avenue." "Bird's Lament" was released in 1969.

Fad Gadget was the stage name of British avant-garde/industrial/new wave/synth/post-punk (that was a mouthful!) artist Frank Tovey. His music was characterized by his use of synthesizers in conjunction with sounds of found objects, including drills and electric razors. "Ricky's Hand" was the second Fad Gadget single, released in 1980. Lyrically the song was a sardonic cautionary tale on the perils of drink driving, with the lead character RIcky losing his hand in a crash.
