âThat was some party at your place.â She snips the stems on a rose and looks over at Ava sideways. Sheâd gone because she hadnât a reason not to at the time and because sheâd wanted to talk to Anastasia. That plan had gone out the window the moment mythical people had been revealed to just be around Corinth. Casually, as if it were nothing. The place had weird vibes, admittedly she was used to weird, but not Medusa turning partygoers to stone weird. Itâs been two weeks in the bay, less than that sheâs been at the flower shop, but Jazz has an idea of who Ava is by now. Studious and bright and maybe even a little naive and she immediately reminded her of her sister back home.
So of course that meant sheâd immediately adopted her.
But sheâd been considerably quieter since the party, thereâs a lack of the usual spark to her. âI would ask you if youâre doing okay, but Iâm guessing the answer is no and Iâm sure everyoneâs asked.â She raises her shoulders in a dismissive shrug, her attention back on the arrangement in front of her. âMy stepmom always told me if I frowned around the flowers theyâd wilt. Iâm taking no chances. Do you think Iâm this cheery for my own benefit?â Itâs a poor attempt at a joke, she knows her resting face is atrocious, itâs one of her favorite things about herself. @avxvidalisâ
