Oh I gotta walk on eggshells with this because I can be the most pretentious music fan ever if I don’t check myself but I’m gonna say right now that certain more mainstream emo bands attract a particular type of person that just.... hmmmm, they like to act like their music is extremely underground as if MCR and P!ATD aren’t damn near household names and love making pretentious weird posts about how you didn’t have a childhood if you didn’t love FOB or whatever and a lot of them are like edgy in a performative way that’s just needlessly rude and I could never be in the same room with them without ripping out my own spine. That doesn’t mean everyone who enjoys music like that is like that ofc like those bands aren’t inherently bad I just really despise that trend of behavior I see sometimes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

so before i knew what hiatus notices were, I knew I needed to go on a hiatus, and I didn’t know how to do it, so on my Marvel from thg blog, I wrote a letter FROM MARVEL, telling everyone ‘I can’t do this anymore. I can’t stay here anymore.’ and set it on queue to post like once a day until I came back a month later, and when I came back, instead of making an announcement like ‘hey sorry i left for a month because I was moving houses’ I wrote starters for like all the people in Marvel’s main verse where he comes back after having left for a month and everyone was upset because he abandoned them and the muns were so happy i came back??? and it was so happy but so heartbreaking because of all the people feeling betrayed because marvel fucking OLLIE’D OUT with a note that sounded vaguely like a suicide note.
