I wrote this in two days and itās over 8k. I donāt know how that happened. I might have set a personal record today, because over 5k of this happened in the last ten hours.Ā
Summary: At age 25, Jack takes his therapistās suggestion and writes letters to his past self, one letter per year. Note: this fic is just the letters, no framing or anything, and Jack discusses his childhood body-image issues in detail. T for swearing and vague discussions of sex and drugs.
I think abt autistic!jack every day of my life and yet have never written my own headcanons,, anyone wanna pester me to write some,,,
anyone have some good autistic!jack fics I miss him
Hi! As someone who is autistic (& has ADHD) I strongly believe Jack is on the spectrum. I really relate to the way Jack interacts with the world and have shared the same anxiety as well. Itās up to you if you wanna HC him that way, but I can assure you that from what we have seen/read, Jack accurately represents some of us with autism. (I want to emphasize that obviously everyone is different, but I have seen other people on here share my opinions!)
(direct response to this ask)
thank you so much for reaching out!!! iām so glad there are people with personal experiences who can voice their opinions on this. what specific patterns do you relate to or recognize in him? iām really interested in hearing about that.Ā
also, when you hc him, what practices/habits do you hc? iāve seen some people talk about stimming or about the way he handles his anxiety, and iām really interested in that as well!Ā
iāve already mentioned that i donāt have enough irl experience to feel confident in my knowledge. as far as iām aware, the autistic spectrum includes specific syndromes, but you can also be diagnosed without falling into the category of one specific syndrome. is that correct? and if so, where would you put jack on the spectrum? (i guess thatās like asking how would you diagnose him if he was a real person and you were a doctor. iām also aware an autistic diagnosis can be a long and difficult process, so this might not be a realistic question.)

Ugh wow I love one (1) stimmy boy
Hells yeah, we do!
The irregular eye contact, his sometimes very blunt approach to answering questions, the fidgeting/stimming - the bestest. Moving and waving hands while talking, tugging his ear, pulling his hair, touching his face, rubbing his arms/legs, cracking his fingers, bouncing his leg etc. This is only from what jack does in interviews, it sure does leave up to the imagination!
Iām in full support of this headcanon now, I love it!Ā
i obviously don't know anything about jack's life but wow his hands in the gif you used for 'just a little nudge' are kind of brilliantly autistic and i am living for it tbh
Yeah! I got an ask right when my blog started, asking if I knew if Jack was autistic. His sarcasm and hand gestures might indicate that. Itās a lovely headcanon for him.
