ACES. MOTHMAN, YOU OUT HERE SPEAKINâ MY JAM. BOY CAN I TALK ABOUT JOKERâS MORALITY.
Fun fact: Jokerâs morality has mostly stayed the same. A bit ago, I actually wrote some headcanons about how the first kidnapping mission went, and mentioned that Joker hates- and still hates- killing and hurting people, which is a reason he prefers getting the missions done quickly and quietly, away from the public eye. ( Granted, theyâre normally done away from the public eye, but like. You know what I mean. In seedy alleys the furthest away from cops and of children that wonât be noticed if theyâre missing, mostly. )
Heâs gotten more and more used to the killing and hurting people bit, but it still disgusts him to absolutely no end and just considers it another mask he has to don ( in BOC ep. 4, where he tells Doll âHesitate and youâre finished.â is an example of this ), and itâs quite honestly his least favourite mask of all of the ones he puts on. Joker knows heâs not an apathetic, morally corrupt killer, but sometimes he still sits alone in his tent and has episodes about it- what if I become that? he thinks, because I continue to do it? It makes him physically sick a lot, and fucks even more with his already sketchy lack of sleep / insomniac habits.Â
But somehow, despite all of this, his morality waves unchanged, if only for the sheer fact he has to try and brainwash himself that heâs doing it to protect people dearest to him- but even that doesnât work. He canât shake the feeling of disgust at himself and his actions and the worry about all of this on top of it.
