Q: When should I hire a beta reader?
A: Ideally, after you've completed your own revisions and feel your manuscript is ready for another pair of eyes, but before you publish.
A beta reader looks at your manuscript from a reader's perspective and can help you discover things you may no longer notice because you've been working on the story for so long.
A good beta reader can help you identify:
π Plot issues or confusing scenes π€ Character development problems β±οΈ Pacing that feels too slow or rushed π¬ Dialogue that doesn't feel natural β€οΈ Emotional moments that aren't landing π Questions or inconsistencies a reader may notice
Remember: You know your story inside and out. Your reader doesn't.
