Mystery Road: Origin (Season 2)
The story takes place six months after Season 1, in Loch Iris — a small timber town haunted by the ghosts of the past.
I loved Season 1, but Season 2 is depressing and painfully slow. It just doesn’t have the same spark or originality as the first season. The plot drags on and on, and by the end, I just wanted the show to be over — I didn’t care about the storyline at all. It felt contrived, everyone in the series looked depressed and Jay Swan was acting like a rogue agent, imprisoning and roughing up people just because they “looked suspicious.” If you enjoyed Season 1, I’d recommend skipping this one — it’s really a waste of time.
YALL (especially wlw ily babies 😉)
if you want something to watch in your free time I recommend a little youtube series I spotted yesterday called "flunk". it's messy and lesbian as hell. I'm currently on the first season and it's by an Australian drama production. 4-6 minute episodes but when I tell you, you will be taken on a journey of utter gay chaos within those few minutes. so if lesbian drama and storylines about figuring out your sexuality for the first time is your thing, I definitely recommend it. can't say the acting is top tier but its fun, gay as hell and the accents make it even better!
CONTENT WARNINGS ⚠️🚨⚠️🚨
I will say there is a small theme of SA and mention of r*pe in the first season and a lot of cussing throughout.
Troppo (Season 2)
🎬An eccentric private investigator with a criminal past and a disgraced ex-cop solve a murder in the wilds of Far North Queensland.
✍️A seriously good detective drama set in beautiful Queensland. I highly recommend it. It is original, with great character development and mystery. Definitely worth spending one's time on. Season 2 is available in Australia on the ABC network and will be free to watch on Amazon's Freevee channel from July 25th. It's a good show, and in a field of mediocre and 'same ol' rubbish, it is commendable to come across something new and different.
A Place to Call Home (2013 - 2018)
Sarah Adams returns to Australia post World War II to start anew. She begins working in a hospital, much to the dismay of Elizabeth Bligh, a wealthy matriarch.
Over the years, some of my friends mentioned this show, so I finally decided to check it out. At first, it came across as the Australian "Downtown Abbey," and I particularly enjoyed the stories about healing after the horrors of the Second World War. The show stayed interesting for seasons 1-3, and then it just lost the plot and became like a soap opera where stories went nowhere and the characters stayed in a loop and made stupid decisions. There was a Disney-like baddie, and the show went from believable to unbelievable.
I liked the rustic cottages used for the show, and the Australian countryside really looks beautiful. I would say check out seasons 1-2, maybe season 3, and then just read the recaps (if you really must know what happens) for the rest of the three seasons. I'm glad it was canceled.
I really liked the characters of 'Roy Briggs' and 'Doris Collins'. They were entertaining.

A Mood Christmas (2012)
An Australian family gathers for Christmas. Love them or hate them, your family is for life and forever. Whatever happens, your family loves to welcome you home for Christmas. But did you really want to be there?
I found this by chance on UK’s Channel 5 app. It is such a funny and feel good show and made me smile. I don’t think it matters that it is not holiday season now, because this is a great show and I highly recommend it. It will leave you with a smile on your face. Check it out!
Aussies make great TV shows. Any more that I should check out?
AUSTRALIA IS NEXT!!!!
does anybody know a link to watch the show Home and Away (Season 19 and up) ?
