#aurora:

Aurora was out not minding her business as per usual. It wasn’t her fault that she was trying to learn everything and get to know everyone with a limited amount of time. Ok, maybe it is her fault but that’s besides the point. 

Currently, she was figuring out how to approach a boy she saw in the store. He had the most stunning freckles, and she just had to tell him. Aurora could’ve sworn she recognized him from somewhere too, but she couldn’t quite put her finger on where. She didn’t think she’d forget someone that looked like that, but then again her memory wasn’t the greatest. After a moment of thinking, she just decided to suck it up and approach him. What’s the worst that could happen?

The souls of various humans and animals swirled around Aurora as she ambled down the street looking for something interesting to do. They used to be overwhelming, but she’d gotten accustomed to their presence by now. She continued walking on until something decidedly not human, at least not fully, came close enough for her to sense them. Aurora’s eyes lit up in excitement, finally something new to do! She was going to meet another magical being. 

Tracking them down after a minute she approached a lanky and tired looking boy. His soul was.. unique to say the least, but he didn’t look as exceptional as his soul did she thought to herself. 

“Pssst, hey.” she waved the man down, and motioned for him to come over to her “You’re different, you’re kind of like me but also kind of human? How fun!" she beamed at the stranger.

"So what are you?” 

“Menoooo, come on~” she whined and flopped dramatically onto the counter of her friend’s bakery. “Let’s go to the carnival! I’ve never been to a human festival before; we’ll have so much fun together!” 

Aurora’s pout and puppy eyes were in full effect as she clasped her hands in supposition. She was getting Meno to come, even if she had to kidnap her!

Aurora skipped excitedly as she made her way into the bakery, enticed by the idea of getting her hands on a slice of cake as fast as she could. Of all the human foods she had tried cake was definitely her favorite! The spirit made her way up to the counter, noting that she seemed to be the only one in the shop at the moment, and rang the counter bell to call on the baker.

“You have the soul of a dog,” a finger poked into a definitely human chest “but you’re not.” She peeked around the person to see if there was a dog hidden somewhere behind them, but there wasn’t an animal in sight. This was all so confusing! She had run over to pet a dog, but instead only found a random, human boy standing around. Maybe her senses were off? Was she losing her touch? Aurora huffed in disappointment at the missed opportunity to pet a dog.

Was that person wearing a fur cape? Aurora’s eyes grew wide at the sight as she immediately ran over to talk to them. Anyone who had a fur cape was bound to be interesting in her opinion. 

“Wowie! Where’d a kid like you get a fur coat like this?” her small hands immediately went to patting it, trying to gauge how soft it was. “So cool, what kind of fur is it? You didn’t kill any animals right?! Oh!” she stopped patting the cape as her hands went up and felt a piece of the person’s hair.
