oc brainworm rambles i Had To Get Out Of My Mind under the cut. they're Not Good or Worth Reading i can assure you but i need them OUT
god I'm rewatching Black Clover again for the trillionth time and I watched the episode where Mars and Fana reunite not too long ago and I cannot stop thinking about the way Aurora's heart burns watching it happen. She's like, so, so so happy for them, but at the same time, all she can think about is if she and Zora would ever get a chance like that.
She looks at the way Mars holds Fana and she remembers the way Zora used to hold her during thunderstorms when they were little. She looks at those two and she sees the little boy in Mars desperate to save his friend, who clearly means the world to him, and she thinks of how Zo had tried to save her.
It's so bittersweet for her to watch that reunion go down, because she's so fucking happy that these two, even if they were their enemies not too long ago, that these two people who clearly love each other dearly that were torn apart so violently and for so long actually got a chance to find each other again... seeing these two people who had endured such similar tragedy find this moment. She can't help but be overjoyed for them.
But gods she wonders if it'll ever be her and Zora.
And it won't be. They don't ever get that dramatic moment of reunion. There's no tears, there's no hug, no I missed you. There's just Zora playing Identity Theft and Aurora having to play along and pretend that she doesn't fucking know this guy when every fiber of her being wants to at the very least acknowledge that it's him, and he's alive.
And then he vanishes after the exams and doesn't show his face around at all until the very last moment. showing up late, even, to the roll call for the roster of Royal Knights, and even then it's not a grand moment of reunion. At the very least, she can let the look of absolute joy and relief, the downright mirth show when he arrives show, but the truth comes out in little more than, "Glad you took off the purple, cause I'm not fuckin' callin' you Xerx, dude... black suits you better anyways."
And it can't go any further than that because Mereo is Right There and Aurora knows better than to piss her off. They have robes to try on, they have orders to receive, they don't have the time or the luxury of a reunion right now. Later, at the dinner, they still don't get that luxury because there's just too many eyes and too many people trying to make conversation. Next thing they know, they're off to war first thing in the morning. They don't even get to know what they've been up to for the last thirteen years before they're raiding the EotMS base.
Like. They never really get that moment of closure that comes from the grand moment of a reunion. They just jump right into slotting back together, figuring out all the ways they've changed as they go. Because neither of them are super prone to emotional outbursts unless the moment's built up to it, and they very carefully tiptoe around it for a long time.
idk man im rambling like hell rn, this was just supposed to be abt her watching mars and fana reunite but zorora always fucking gets away from me. i wish i had the energy to turn this into a cohesive fic rather than just the endless ramblings but like!!! lmfao thats not gonna happen <3
anyways if anyone actually read this much of my mindless rambles, hi~ my blorbos are rotting my brain and i had to Release Them <3 thank u for coming to my tedtalk <3

What flavor would your character say their personality is?
Lemon. Light, bright, inherently a bit sour, but can delightfully sweet when you add the right stuff to it.
Would your character prefer baking, cooking or mixing drinks?
Mixing drinks, baking, cooking in that order. She does more baking, but she really enjoys mixing drinks.
Is there a food or drink your character is unwilling to try?
She tries her best not to be picky, but if there's something with a texture she knows she's not gonna like, she's not gonna bother trying it. Doesn't matter if it tastes decent if the texture is bad.
How big is your character's appetite?
Pretty large! She burns a lot of energy with all her training, so she eats plenty to fuel and strengthen her body.
Does your character consider eating fun?
Not particularly. It's mostly something she does because it needs to be done, and eating her favorite foods makes it better? But I don't think she'd consider it "fun". The only aspect of having a meal that's fun to her is the social aspect of having meals with the Bulls.
Would your character eat or drink something they didn't like to appease someone?
I'm gonna say yes, but it probably depends heavily on what the food is and who's asking. Theres a spectrum for how willing she'd be based on how much she didn't like the food and how much she loves the person asking and doesn't want to disappoint them.
Is there food that has made your character sick?
Dried plantain/banana chips. Specifically dried chips. Normal bananas are fine, but for some reason, the dried chips make her ill.
What is your character's favorite food group?
Aurora really likes proteins and carbs lmfao. Meats are probably her favorite, but ✨️she's just a girl✨️ and she loves grains. She fucks heavy with pastas and rice and bread. She really does love all the food groups, but if she had to, she would be content being just a meat and potatoes girlie.
Does your character like to try new foods?
She doesn't mind it, yea! She's not really the type to search out new food experiences, but she's open to trying new things when the opportunity presents itself.
What is a childhood meal your character cherishes?
A very simple dish her papa used to make was thinly sliced meat marinated in soy sauce and sugar over a bed of rice. She's found ways to get a similar tasting dish in Clover, but she hasn't fully nailed the taste. Another dish was Zara's beef stew. When Zora makes it, it's pure nostalgia in a bowl.
Is your character food motivated?
Not at all, really. Perhaps a silly little treat might get her going, but she's not really a food motivated person.
Which mealtime is your character's favorite?
Hard tie between breakfast and dinner. Breakfast has so many good options, but dinner has the good meats.
How much does your character care about wasting food?
A fairly good deal. Even in her homeland, she wasn't from wealth. In Clover, she was raised in the forsaken realm, and while they definitely had enough to keep food on the table, not being wasteful was something that had been instilled in her from a young age. She hates how wasteful the nobles and royals tend to be.
Does your character prefer restaurant food or home cooked food?
Usually home cooked. There's something comforting and familiar about a home cooked meal, y'know?
What food or drink does your character consider a treat?
Most sweets from a bakery! She loves little pastries, and usually, she makes herself make them at home when she wants a little sweet treat. Every now and then, though, she lets herself visit her favorite bakery and brings home a box or two of goodies for the squad. She knows she can't make a croissant or a puff pastry as well as these guys can. She doesn't have the patience for laminating layers of butter like that.
Is there a food texture your character doesn't like?
Yes! Aurora can't stand slimy foods and mushy foods. Oysters are a huge no-go, as is oatmeal. She can tolerate jello for about 5 minutes until her brain realizes it's eating jello, and then she can't touch it. Bananas also fall under the mushy category, but she tries to force those down after workouts.
What kind of drinks does your character prefer?
Icy cold and not too sweet. She likes water with some flavor, like lemon or fruit infusions. It needs *some* sort of flavor to it. The only thing she enjoys on the sweeter side is her coffee and her hot cocoa. She also really likes fruity teas and peppermint teas, hot or iced.
Is there an item your character doesn't like to leave without?
For sure! I think for most in the Black Clover universe, the grimoire is a must-have, and that's also true for Aurora. She doesn't love leaving the house without her bo staff or meteor hammer, but she can manage without them.
What gift would your character give to someone they didn't like but felt obligated to?
Aurora would still try and get them something decent, but it really depends on who the person is. Someone like Nozel might get a rather nice bottle of a well aged wine or whiskey, but it wouldn't necessarily be delivered with a smile. Very much with a 😒 "Here. Take it." attitude. Someone like William, though, would be lucky to get more than a box of chocolate tossed in his direction.
What type of object is likely to catch your character's attention?
Sparkles, or celestial motifs. Weapons and books always grab her eye.
Is there an item your character liked that they can’t get back?
Two. She once had a small photo frame on a hinge that opened like a book, and within it were photos of her with her mom and dads. The other was a little white stuffed bunny plush her aunt had given her the first time her mother had brought her to meet the family. She lost both those items when she got lost her home.
Would your character ever try to haggle?
Not usually. She'd only do it if she knew the asking price was a total ripoff. There's a certain range around the fair asking price of an item she's willing to pay above, but she's usually not afraid to walk away from someone who's being greedy.
What is something your character is proud to own?
The item she's most proud of is by far her necklace. It's a pendant on a gold chain with the symbol of her Goddess on it. She never goes anywhere without it. For her, it's a symbol of devotion, protection, and the last tangible connection she has to her homeland and her culture.
Does your character ever spend more than they have?
Never. She's smart with her money and saves more than she spends. She knows how to split up her savings goals, how to divert and reroute her funds in order to prioritize certain goals, but always leaves enough money in the fun budget to spend on herself.
What would it take for your character to give up an item they really like?
Someone else needing it more. Things with significant sentimental value would be incredibly difficult to pry from her. She grew up with two sisters, so she's used to sharing.
Does your character prefer to give or receive gifts?
Give! She loves giving gifts. She loved to provide for the people she loves.
Is there a type of object your character doesn’t like?
I'm not sure why the first thing to come to mind is taxidermy? But she doesn't love it. Mounted buck heads, bear rugs with the heads on, fox trophies- she hates it. There's a difference between hunting game for sustinance and honoring the animal by letting nothing go to waste in whatever ways you can manage, and displaying their bodies as trophies just doesn't sit right with her.
She also isn't a big fan of items that are extravagant for the sake of being extravagant, if that makes sense. Things where it's clear that the only reason you'd have that item, like a designer purse, for example, is to make a statement about your wealth. It's okay to splurge on a more expensive bag for practical reasons like quality, or if you just really like a color or something, but there's definitely things that exist purely to flaunt wealth.
What might an acquaintance think is a good gift for your character?
Books! Any sort of book. She reads just about anything, from magic theory to fantasy and adventure. She's a little bookworm, and you don't need to be suoer close to her to know that.
Does your character personify objects?
Not usually!
What does your character most enjoy shopping for?
Books lmao.
Is there an item your character is embarrassed they own or want?
Not really! Aurora isn't the type to really be embarrassed about the things she wants. Why feel shame about her desires? The closest thing might be in her nightstand if you catch my drift, but even then, she's not embarrassed to own them. It might be a little embarrassing if someone were to find them, but she doesn't feel weird about having them.
Would your character prefer something bought or made personally?
She's equally as grateful for both, assuming the same amount of thought was put into it. She always appreciates a labor of love, but not everyone has the skills to make things.
Is your character willing to ask for things?
No <3
What is most important to your character when shopping?
Quality!!! Quality is super important to her. A good deal is also pretty important, but quality above all.
What is your character's favorite physical trait they possess?
As far as traits she was born with, Aurora's always loved her eyes. She's just always thought they were rather pretty, but she grew up with all her parents telling her that so she's also probably incredibly biased. As far as for traits she's developed, she really does love her muscles. Her shoulders and her back especially. They're a double edged sword for her because she really does love the way she looks, but she does get sick of hearing about how "women should be petite and slender, women don't need all that muscle-"
What would your character wear if they were told they had to gussy up?
Is there something about your character's appearance that they would change if possible?
She'd probably opt for a gown in a very lightweight fabric. She doesn't like feeling like her movement is being restricted, so she'd opt for something silky and flowy, maybe even with a leg slit (show off them thighs babe). Like I mentioned above, she's most confident about her shoulders and back, so she'd likely opt for something off the shoulder with a more exposed back. She's my purple coded character, so perhaps something in lavender.
[jenna marbles voice] she wants to be TAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLL (she's like 5'3, 5'4 on a good day)
Does your character have a favorite material they like to wear?
She's a big fan of anything breathable and lightweight. She doesn't like fabrics that are super heavy UNLESS it's for a jacket- in which case heavy materials are lovely. I personally don't know enough about materials to know the proper answer to this, nor am I going down a textile rabbit hole at this hour <3
What are your character's opinion on scars?
Scars are a sign of a life lived and a moment survived, especially when you walk the path of a warrior. She actually has less scars to show for her battles than she should- her recovery magic doesn't tend to leave scars. She's not ashamed of scars, nor does she find them unsightly- her magic just doesn't leave any.
How much interest does your character take in trends?
Very little!! Aurora is aware of trends thanks to her sister Nerissa, who is infinitely more trendy than Aurie will ever be. She doesn't pay most of them much mind, though. Fashion trends don't interest her very much, but she might be tempted to check out a new bakery or try a new kind of coffee!
Is there someone your character tries to look similar to?
She doesn't consciously try to look similar to anyone. I do think she picked up a lot of her style influences from Mereoleona growing up, but she doesn't make the conscious effort to dress like her.
Does your character have a physical trait that they're known for?
muscles, generally. aside from her muscles, probably just the constant look of self-assured confidence and mischief on her face in battle? but like tbh mostly the muscles.
What does your character smell like?
One of three things, generally.
On your normal, average day she smells of her favorite perfume with notes of red apples, winter rose petals, candied oranges, maple leaf and fresh cinnamon. Very bright, a little sweet, and a touch of spice.
After a particularly harsh mission, she'll generally smell like the herbal, floral soak she uses for a recovery bath. The scent lingers on the skin for a day or so, even with a shower, but there's a soft sweetness to it that doesn't make it smell entirely medicinal.
Finally, she'll occasionally smell of incense, namely dragon's blood. She burns the resin during prayer, and cleanses herself with the smoke. The scent lingers on her clothes for a few hours, but for those few hours, she's reminded of home.
If your character could splurge on a particular garment, what would it be?
She splurges on practical items! Well made jackets and gloves, shoes without a doubt. The number one thing she splurges on (and loves to purchase for friends and family) is cloaks. A good quality cloak will never be missed. She splurges mostly on the material, and on enchantments. A wool cloak with a thermal regulation charm woven within the fibers, with sturdy clasps is her go-to.
Is your character's favorite color a color they wear often?
Surprisingly, no! Aurora's favorite color is blue, and the only blue she generally wears is in a bracelet with great sentimental value to her. She generally wears white, black, and purple. I did unintentionally make her a walking nonbinary flag.
Has your character gone through major stylistic or physical changes?
Yea, I'd say so. I think as she got stronger and her body became more toned and defined, she over time began to opt for more athletic, breathable styles. Crop tops and tank tops, pants that are easy to move in, sturdy boots. She's definitely a function over fashion type now.
What is something your character would refuse to wear?
Anything with a particularly gaudy or vibrant print. She's not into super bright bright colors, or loud prints. She's a big fan of simplicity, so things that are just over the top with ruffles and things are also a big no-go for her. She will do her darndest to talk her way out of having to wear a skirt when its not 1000% necessary.
Is there a style your character is afraid they can’t pull off?
She doesn't think she can pull off like... a princess-y, dainty, ethereal sort of elegance. Another reason she avoids gowns with a large skirt and a bunch of tulle is just the fact that she thinks she looks ridiculous. She would love to be able to feel comfortable in those sorts of outfits, she'd love to have a moment where she can feel like a princess, but she just doesn't think she's got it in her.
Would your character wear something someone else picked out for them?
Yes :') unless she absolutely feels uncomfortable with wearing it, she wouldn't have the heart to not wear something someone wanted to see her in. Even if she was uncomfortable, I think she'd probably just be more like "Hey... I'm not too sure about this one, hon. D'ya think we could try something else? I'm open to suggestions, but the hem on this is-" or whatever her qualm with the fit is. Like she'd leave the door open to try and find a happy medium with the person.
Is your character's appearance more telling or deceiving?
Mmmm, a bit of both. She's equal parts Looks like she could kill you, is a cinnamon roll and Looks like she could kill you, would kill you. Maybe not equal parts. Maybe like a solid 60/40 depending on who you are and how close you are to her.
What are your character's thoughts on wearing costumes?
She thinks it's fun!! They're not her most favorite thing in the world, but dressing up once a year is fun.
Does your character have a favorite outfit?
She loves the tried and true combination of a tank top/crop top with a jacket over. It's got everything you need. Too hot? Take off the jacket.
If your character had to get a tattoo what would it be?
She has always considered herself incredibly blessed to have lived a life incredibly full of love, even if it's been filled with immense loss in turn. She would pick either the birth flower or a flower that reminded her of her loved ones to create her very own garden of memories. It wouldn't even be limited to those who have passed- everyone, from her foster family, to her mentors, to the Black Bulls- if she loves you, you're getting a fucking flower. If you're a significant figure in her life, you're getting a flower.
