Second day of the event featuring @barnabyjr’s lovely Aurora Asp! And a little snippet that I jotted out that made me giggle!
Wrong Girl…Right View!
Orpheus dipped from the sky into the forest’s dense pines. From a branch he wordlessly hopped to the ground with the lazy grace of something that belonged to the trees. He’d followed the white-haired figure through the pines with one singular purpose, find his cousin, start a fight, win it with words, reveal in her irritation and leave before her temper struck him.
But when the girl stepped into a spill of pale light, it was then that he noticed, he wasn’t following Carina. It was Aurora.
“Asp?”
The grin on his face didn’t vanish so much as it carefully melted away, until only his usual stillness remained.
Aurora didn’t slow. “Kerr,” she said without looking back, “why are you following me?”
“I mistook you for Carina,” Orpheus replied. “An honest error.”
Aurora finally glanced over her shoulder, her scarred brow lifting. “If you’re looking for another dalliance in the castle,” she drawled, “you’ll find Carina in the library.”
Orpheus made a sound, somewhere between a scoff and a shudder. “Merlin forbid. She’s my cousin. I was hoping to verbally spar with her. Tease her about Cat.”
He paused, as if remembering something unpleasant. “Besides, I wouldn’t do that in the library. Carina, and Madam Scribner, would have my hide nailed to a shelf.”
That earned him a real look.
Aurora’s brows rose slightly, as if she wasn’t used to him offering more than a few words at a time. Her eyes, green and bright, sharpened by the forest’s shade, caught the light when she turned.
Emeralds.
Pretty. Shiny.
Aurora faced forward again and continued down the narrow path. Orpheus followed, telling himself he wasn’t trailing her like a lovesick Kneazle.
That was a lie.
He wanted to see her eyes flash again.
They walked in the hush of the forest, birdcall above, wind threading through needles, the world behaving itself for once. And then the trees thinned, opening into a small overlook where the land dipped away into rolling green and far-off water catching the sky.
Aurora stopped at the edge, breath leaving her in a soft gasp.
“It’s beautiful,” she murmured.
Orpheus looked out at the view like it was a painting he’d already judged and filed away. “Mm.” His gaze fixed from the view before him to the curve of Aurora’s neck, the way her cheeks flushed from the walk.
Aurora turned her head sharply. “Don’t tell me you’re unimpressed.”
“I’m rarely impressed,” he replied dryly.
She made an exasperated sound. “Then why did you follow me all this way?”
Orpheus stepped closer, just enough to steal the space beside her without asking for it. His gaze slid from the horizon to her face, calm and unapologetic.
“I wasn’t following the scenery,” he said.
Aurora’s mouth parted as she sighed. Her gaze lingering over the view.
Orpheus leaned in and pressed a light kiss to her cheek. Soft, teasing, but with enough heat to send a shiver down her spine.
Aurora froze. A soft, startled gasp escaped her before she could swallow it, and her hand rose to her cheek like she expected the warmth to vanish if she didn’t catch it in time.
“I’m trying to enjoy the view,” she managed, voice betraying her.
For a heartbeat she simply stared at him, emerald eyes wide, as if the forest had shifted under her feet.
“Oh?” she murmured.
Orpheus’ brow lifted, faintly amused. “Oh.”
Aurora stepped into his space instead of away, she grabbed the front of his shirt, tugging him down just enough to plant a bold kiss at the corner of his mouth, lingering a beat too long, her lips brushing his with electric promise.
It lasted a heartbeat.
Long enough to steal his next line.
Aurora pulled back with a satisfied little hum, eyes flashing wickedly. “Now,” she said, voice light, “I’m trying to enjoy the view.”
The tiniest pause betrayed him, like his mind had to reset its footing.
Then his mouth curved again, slower this time. Warmer.
“Careful,” he murmured, leaning just a fraction closer. “If you keep doing that, I’ll start following you on purpose.”
Aurora’s cheeks warmed, but she refused to look away. “You already are.”
Orpheus’ gaze flicked to her lips and back to her eyes. “Perhaps,” he said, voice a low velvet threat, “I simply like getting what I want.”
Aurora scoffed, but it sounded breathless. “Insufferable.”
“And yet,” Orpheus said, thumb brushing her wrist, “you’re still standing close.”

All the wonderful drawings for OC Kiss inspired me, so I wrote a little something 💕 Leo ponders about his love life so far. Ending is pure Lovelake fluff 🙈
Leonard Lovegood had never been the type to shy away from a kiss. Kissing was easy, at least from his own experience. And he had a lot of that.
There had been his fling with Jocie two years ago. Of course, they had both still been children then, more playing like a loving couple than anything, because they had both liked the idea of it and with them both being chosen as the new beaters for Ravenclaw, it felt natural. Kissing her had been the easiest thing in the world, because she had always been up for it, even asking for it. Long, deep, passionate kisses full of longing. Her need for physical proof of affection had been almost pathological … it still was, he supposed. They, however, had soon realised they were better off as friends.
Then, when he turned 14, there was Cataria Leftwing. He had been in awe of that girl since they started school and when he had mustered the courage to ask her out, she had taken charge of the situation and given him a kiss before he had known what hit him. An incredibly good one, too. He still remembered the taste of her. This kiss was all that ever happened between them, which was fine. But since then, he has wanted more.
He had started flirting around, kissed a lot of people. There had been Connor Diggory and, some time later, his sister Anya. A family of exceptionally great kissers, really.
There had also been Aurora Asp and then Carina Savage (he had had a thing for white hair at the time). Both had been perfectly lovely in their own ways.
Aurora and he had been together a while. Spent nearly all their time roaming the Highlands trying to find treasure caves, exchanging kisses of joy when they found something.
With Carina, it had been a dare. Sebastian had offered him five Galleons if he’d walk up to Carina and surprise kiss her. He had done so and been hexed for it before he could even blink. Not entirely undeserved, he had to admit. They had talked it out later and now, she was one of his closest friends.
Finally, there had been his long-time crush, Elijah Finch. This kiss had been on a lovely date, a kiss that had left him all fuzzy inside, despite Eli’s Niffler Winnie, who had kept searching Leo for glittering things all the while. A little menace, but who could ever be angry with a Niffler?
His most exciting kiss had been with Maeve Clancy. It was in the heat after a particularly tense game of Quidditch. She had shouted at him for fifteen minutes, because she was convinced he had fouled one of her teammates and suddenly, without any of them being able to explain why and how it happened, they had been making out. She had threatened to hex him if he ever told anyone about this later, but he had been more occupied with how cute she looked when she was angry to pay too much attention to her words.
Merlin, he had even kissed Teodoro to try and help him get over his crush on Sharp. Not that it had helped. Teodoro was as hopelessly infatuated as ever. Leo couldn’t exactly blame him. The potions master was incredibly attractive, despite (or perhaps because of) his age. But there was no way anything would happen between them, at least while Teo was still a student. Teo knew that, which was why he had agreed to this kiss. It had been a good one, too.
All in all, it was always the same pattern: find someone cute, ask them out, be sweet and flirty and the kissing will come naturally. It didn’t even have to be romantic. He loved being affectionate with his friends.
Then, there had been Garreth’s new friend: Orpheus Kerr. This boy had almost been his undoing. Stoic, unreadable, but utterly charming when he wanted something. And he had wanted Leo, who had been all too happy, to oblige. Of course. After all, Orpheus was incredibly attractive and knew exactly how to win people over. But the longer they had been together, the more clear it became to Leo, that Orpheus‘ heart wasn’t in it. He was tender, caring, but there had always been this … distance, like he was holding Leo at arm’s length. Leo never believed Orpheus did this to intentionally be cruel, but it had been torturing nonetheless. So he had ended it. Orpheus had accepted this with his usual stoic calm and, to this day, Leo wasn’t sure if it had affected him at all.
And finally, just a few months ago, he had met her. Beatrice Bluelake. Bee.
Perhaps “met” was the wrong word. He had known her since their first year at school. But he had never really noticed her, the quiet, shy girl with the bow in her hair, that almost never looked up from her book or her latest drawing. Until Kogawa had asked him to assist her during flying lessons.
Bee attended this class, because of course she did. She had managed to avoid it for the longest time, but Professor Weasley and Madame Kogawa weren’t about to let her finish her OWL year without being able to safely steer a broom.
Her first lesson had been a disaster. The broom didn’t react to her “up”, then it threw her off before she had even reached a height of two metres.
So Leo was asked to give her extra lessons. He quickly noticed why Bee had trouble with flying. She was scared. Of the height and of the speed. His job was to take this fear away.
The more time he spent with her, the more he felt drawn to her. She was so clever and so kind, caring, perhaps too caring for her own good. She also possessed natural emotional intelligence that intrigued him. Conversations with her were never boring. She could talk for hours about the things she liked (and he loved to listen and hear the joy in her voice when she did), but she also was genuinely interested in the things he liked to talk about. And, of course, she was incredibly pretty, too. Sparkly brown eyes, long dark hair, a beautiful face and the cutest, warmest smile he’d ever seen.
He began seeking her out more often, finally asked her out to Hogsmeade. They had spent quite some time together by now. He really liked her. And he longed to let her know. Which is why he had prepared this picknick, up here by the waterfall.
Bee had made a pie. Of course she had. Whenever they met, she had some sort of pie for him. This time, it was shepherd’s pie. “I hope you like them,“ she said with a smile.
“They’re my favourite," he said while he helped her climb over a rock.
Bee laughed. “You say that every time.”
„Because all kinds of pie are my favourite. Especially when you made them,“ he answered honestly.
Bee blushed and shoved his arm lightly. “Stop it!”
„But it’s true. You turn everything you touch into a masterpiece: drawings, stories, food … It’s magical.“
She smiled at that. “Well, thank you.” Her eyes sparkled in the sunlight and again, Leo felt the urge to kiss her. But he didn’t. He didn’t want to ruin this by scaring her away.
Instead, once they had both sat down, he placed his hand on hers. “I’m glad you’re here with me,“ he said.
She swallowed. “You are?”
„Of course. I love spending time with you, Honeybee.“ He looked at her and softly pressed her hand. She looked at him wide-eyed, like this confession came as a surprise to her. But after a heartbeat, she moved her hand slightly to better hold his.
“Me too,“ she said with a cute giggle. Her eyes sparkled warmly and suddenly Leo felt all fuzzy inside, like he had been knocked off his feet. And suddenly he felt like he was floating. It was an incredible feeling. And suddenly he knew he’d trade all those past kisses to have this. For nothing more than the kiss in her eyes.
