I gotta know, what do Cheese Sandwich's parents feel about Cheddar Changa? On one hand they probably favor them over the rest of their siblings due to being a celebrity chef, but on the other hand they probably don't accept the fact that their favorite grandchild is NB (assuming that the grandparents have the only-two-genders mentality old rich people have.) and attempt to hyperfocus on them in an attempt to "correct" them. I'd definitely irk Cheddar the wrong way when they start trying to parade them around their elite "friends" and other socialites at the Festival Cheese Sandwich is helping organize and flaunting them around like a trophy and not allowing them to speak when spoken to (which unfortunately for Cheddie they grandparents take over 95% of the conversations). Hopefully this is what finally gets Cheese to stand up to his parents and put his hoof down.
Idk. I just thought this up because of the idea that they might be trying to replace their daughter who is either in jail, has an ankle monitor, ruined her and her family's (parent's) reputation, or just straight up went into hiding after her outburst on live TV or to hide from her parents. Makes sense since both Marnie and Cheddar were/are famous chefs.
This is a super interesting analysis! Especially with the comparison to Marine and her career as a celebrity chef. I personally think they tend to lean towards the end of not really having acknowledged Cheddar’s existence for most of their life. Cheddar was born by “illegitimate” means (their parents never made any effort to marry each other) and it would look bad within Hors and Mosaic’s elite circles to (from their perspective) “support” such behavior. Maybe for a short time after they got famous they thought about lending some support to Cheddar because of the Marine deal, but once they saw them setting boundaries they would decide their one (1) public outburst meant they were surely destined for a shameful and dysfunctional future just like Marine. Hors and Mosaic don’t want to embarrass themselves twice, so they don’t associate themselves with Cheddar publicly.
As for Cheddar’s gender identity, you’re right, Hors and Mosaic would not understand or accept their nonbinary identity. I can see them flip-flopping between she/her and he/him pronouns when talking about them (with the joke that they care about their grandchild so little that they didn’t bother to learn their birth sex 💀) and generally being flippant whenever Cheese tries to correct them.
Behold! Ultimate Marequaza! Because for some reason I still use the term Ultimate Auraverse even though for all intents and purposes because of the reboot it's just the regular Auraverse.
This is, I want it to be understood, unequivocally one of the coolest things I've ever drawn.
I want to draw Mare in more Pokemon Protag fits like I did with Dawn's outfit but I can't decide which one.
Who should I dress Mare as next?
Kris
Leaf
Lyra
Hilda
Rosa
Serena
Selene
Gloria
Juliana
Harmony
Leaving off Dawn and May for obvious reasons. And Akari cause she's too similar to Dawn.
Mare dressed as Dawn. The image popped into my head so I drew it.

Okay, I know it's only been four or five months since the last time I did a "then vs. now" comparison for my art but I think my most recent one is so good that I just had to compare it to my first ever art. Especially since they're of the same character so it shows off how her design has evolved alongside my artstyle.
Chapter 8 of Ultimate Emerald, "We Put on the Best Talent Show the Town has Ever Seen", has now been published. I said I'd get it done before month's end and I meant it. Ft. Steven Stone and Matt.
So you know how I said I've given up trying to reconcile game lore with Horizons canon? Well, I have. But the Auraverse, which for the people who Don't know is my personal Pokemon AU, is a universe in which legendaries regularly give people superpowers and Zinnia is still a relevant character so I'm already taking liberties with game canon. Which also means I can reconcile Horizons lore with Auraverse lore.
Obviously, Lucius is a Chosen of Rayquaza, one of the aforementioned people given superpowers by a Legendary Pokemon. He can't own Rayquaza, because that would contradict the lore, but we can just cut that part out. That does leave a different glaring plot hole. Rayquaza Chosens are only picked when Groudon and Kyogre are close to awakening, and the last time Groudon and Kyogre awakened before Mare (the main character) had to deal with them was 300 years ago when Sir Aaron (yeah he's here too) was the Chosen of Rayquaza. So Lucius can't have been a Rayquaza Chosen because he lived 100 years ago, in between that time.
Except, note I said Rayquaza Chosens are picked when Groudon and Kyogre are close to awakening. They have not yet awakened when the Chosen is, well, chosen. So Lucius can be a Rayquaza Chosen, he just managed to prevent Groudon and Kyogre from awakening, rather than having to fight them. This means that, objectively speaking, Lucius is better at his job than both Sir Aaron and Mare despite those two being way more important and well-known in-universe than he is. And I think that's hilarious.
