holy shit I finally passed the stealth excercise! About goddamn time!! <- apparently all it took was using a specific item located in the stealth section that makes you go invisible for a few seconds.
now Iâm on the final excercise/s, after in which my real deus ex experience begins.

i should be happy about the Deus Ex Remaster news but unfortunately it looks like theyâre going to make people pay a whole $60 for a game thatâs 25-26 YEARS OLD and looks like everything has been replaced with plastic. And it uses A.I. Too⌠UGH.
So out of spite hereâs some Deus ex self insert stuff.
b4 anyone asks: Iâve got two separate self inserts for the Deus Ex series, with one being for the prequel series (Human Revolution, Mankind Divided⌠that one IOS game??) and one for the original games that came out in the 2000s (OG Deus Ex and Invisible War).
um. MAJOR spoilers for original Deus Ex (2000) and Invisible War (kinda)
prequel deus ex self insert, Blaze Witherheart, is/was a Sarif employee (or ex-employee in Mankind Divided) that was hired because sheâs making companion bots that help remind people to take medications (particularly used in elderly residencies) and Iâm tempted to say itâs like Alexa but minus the whole data mining/spying thing Alexa is known for.
She mostly has golden retriever-energy, and tries her best to keep co-worker morale up even during the most stressful of times. She is not super tied up into plot important events of Human Revolution, sheâs just a side support character, but she does have connections with a few major characters but theyâre mostly just flavor text.
For example Megan Reedâs parents and my self insertâs parents know each other, and did sometimes entrust Reed to supervise my self insert when the parents had work event duties they couldnât avoid. I will say an important detail is that she is one of very few people Adam Jensen considers a friend. Sheâs the Navi to his Link if that makes sense /lh.
Blaze does not have any augmentations aside from an info link, and even then itâs mostly obscured by a hoodie or some other form of head accessory. Honestly she would not have any significance on the plot other than trying to accept her own guilt for not helping people during the attack on Sarif Industries in HRâs opening. Thatsâs because she left work early than usual because she was particularly tired that day. Like sleepy-tired, and she knows her limits and left for home mid-lunch time.
In Mankind Divided she has an âunrequitedâ crush on VĂĄclav Koller (sheâs too scared to talk to him but also maybe itâs actually reciprocated? IDK yet. But she DOES find him cute. And Adam is just so annoyed at her for not doing anything about it.)
self insert for the original deus ex game from 2000 and its sequel invisible war is Rachel Ripley, and she is on the other-side of the coin when it comes to her personality. Introverted as hell, does not interact with her co-workers - oh yeah she works at UNATCO, as a tired and anxious intern who mostly does a lot of paper work and records keeping.
She hates it but itâs the only good job sheâs had because it pays well. She is also walking on eggshells a lot because she overheard a conversation that VERY clearly wasnât meant for her to hear. Uh no augmentations of any kind (again aside from an info link). She knew JC Denton from previous studies at an UNATCO training facility in Sweden (I think?), but she got an extremely early transfer back to the US due to a (extended) family emergency. I know that events of Deus Ex 2000 occur over 3 Days or so, so I think they would have had some sort of mutual crush on each other at the training facility in Sweden but never really did anything about it.
UHH. she doesn't really have much of a major narrative role in Deus Ex 2000 or Invisible War, she's just a side character who isnât vital to the narrative. Although she is painted to be a kind of tragic character in Invisible War, especially with how JC Denton isnât⌠JC Denton anymore. Heâs not dead or anything, letâs just say itâs not a good idea to merge your human consciousness with an ultra powerful A.I. Called Helios. Letâs just say thereâs more Helios than JC in thereâŚ.

idk why Iâm in such a sci-fi/cyberpunk mood recently, must be the Deus Ex still rotating at the back of my brain and I guess I want to get into media thatâs similar to it in aesthetics, while also not veering too much into it.
would be kinda neat if atlus made an immersive sim, but then I realise those types of games donât really sell well and they wouldnât make a game like that, unless they were truly in a comfortable financial spot.
what Iâm saying is think of the endless possibilities of having Deus Exâs open ended exploration where any and all solutions to get into one heavily guarded location are available to you but with turn based combat mechanics of SMT.
you know for my first run of deus ex, I probably should have invested skill points in simple firearms and advanced my skills in medicine - as opposed to melee weapons and environmental training because man I am RUNNING on only 101/400 HP :â)
