It's that time of year again— in an era of transactional pressure through our creative spaces, #Augift is an event to gift art and writing (or whatever other medium you prefer) to others with creative freedom, no time limit or obligation.
Augift runs on Instagram, Tumblr and Bluesky primarily, but you're welcome to use the tag across any platform you're on.

STEP ONE
Post to your profile to your socials with the tag #Augift. Use the profile template provided, or you can create your own. You're welcome to alter and customise the provided template as long as credit is not removed. Remember to add that your followers/community have to comment on the post to be involved unless you're intending to pick your own giftees. Template is below, with my own as an example.

STEP TWO
Your followers comment what they'd like from you. This can be their own characters or characters/things from media. It can be animals, music, scenery— literally anything.
One person could comment their own OCs, another could comment their favourite food, or maybe a myth, story or poem they like. The idea is to inspire, not dictate. Comments of genres and themes are encouraged! You're not creating commission work here; you're making something on your own merit.
STEP THREE
You pick what you create! You can make as little or as much as you like. When posting, you're welcome to post with the #Augift tag for features, but it's not mandatory.
Posting will start in August and continue through the month, but participants are welcome to start early or extend the run time on their own time scale.
You are not obligated to create for everybody, or to make anything that feels like a chore. This is an act of community bonding for both fun and joy, not a tag event where points or tallies are totaled for a win. You can make something for somebody who doesn't know about the event also; you're welcome to take the opportunity to create and gift for the act of gifting.
Anybody who complains about their gifted creation (without merit) will be removed from participating. Respect that this is an opt-in for any creator who posts that they are doing #Augift, and remember that all leagues of creation are welcome.
This means there will be fields of topics you might not enjoy, want to see, or find comfortable, e.g: horror, NSFW, and other themes. This is where you scroll, or block what you don't want to see. Failure to curate your own experience will result in removal from the event.
