Compliant whumpees ily!!!!
Whumpee who genuinely believes that theyre property or sub-human or that they deserve it or that whumper's right. Whumpee that sees no point in struggling because they've learned what kind of situation they are in. Whumpee who wants to be compliant and obedient but can't bring themself to achieve the impossible results whumper wants from them. Whumpee who has complicated feelings about their position and doesn't try to run or anything but, even if theyll still obey at the end of the day, have an attitude that can't just easily be surpassed. Whumpee who is trying to redeem themselves for a percieved fault. Whumpee who doesn't like this but doesn't recognize it. Whumpee who doesn't like it but does recognize the feeling. They think theyre in the wrong for feeling the dread. Whumpee who sees it as justified because, okay—they really were pushing it with that attitude, weren't they? This wouldn't happen if they'd just try harder. They'll just be better next time. It's not whumper's fault, really; that's just how things work. Whumpee is the one in the wrong. Whumpee who needs to endure this for the sake of something else. Whumpee who is in this due to self-sacrifice and need to force themselves to comply. Whumpee to whom this has always been everything that's ever been. Whumpee who thinks it's all unfair but can't actually bring themselves to do something about it, who thinks this is the only way things can even be, for them. Do you see the vision.
The more I think about Corestrings as a concept the more endeared I become to it.
We've been looking for him since we got even just an inkling that he might've existed, once. He's been waiting for us to reach him this entire time. Proof that he existed in Undertale is knowledge that we carried over in Deltarune, because we too exist outside of that time and space. He may not be lost in the same place, but does that make any difference when the connection between us is so prosperous? Is it something either him or us are in a position to deny after we searched everywhere for just a trace of whoever he used to be? After he's been lone and abandoned in a place where no one but us could reach him?
Of course he'd think our connection is beautiful. After a decade of waiting to know him, I think it is too.

And later she opens up the box. and pulls out this little fiqure that looks humanish (hard to sew) (definitely not projecting) and it has little wings and a halo

augh... oh this is so good. Drift sewing... she has little toys and cushions and none of them are Good because that's not the point the point is to make them because she's having fun...
Drift enjoys trying out new patterns rather than making the same things and trying to perfect them because that means she loses interest which means she's constantly stuck in "how much fabric do I Actually need for this because the patterns are always wrong" hell (I'm definitely not projecting either)
A lil soft toy... an angel, with red hair and shining silver armour and slightly mismatched wings, and the face looks like Apo.
She keeps it safe in her room and it banishes nightmares. (That's a normal thing for soft toys to do. That's because it's normal for the creators of soft toys to think about the comfort they'll bring while making them.)
