I thiiink, I’m gonna make a post about kaos magick soon, because I feel like a lot of people don’t really know what it is beyond assumption.
I half practice kaos magick myself, as someone who’s been practicing magick for 20+ years. I used to think I needed to focus on correspondences like my life depended on it, then through many many experiments and experiences, I learned that contemporary magick was so convoluted and over complicated.
Now when I do magick, I have a hand full of items (some based off their popular correspondences, some are based off of my own), my outcomes are so much better, or no different.
I think we forget that consciousness plays a massive role in magick, and we dawdle way too much in the physical sense. Think of manifestation…
Don’t get me wrong though! I still think correspondences are important, but if you convince yourself it’s all that’s Important, then it will be (this is more targeted at people who tell you not to do a spell if you don’t everything. NO YOU DONT NEED EVERYTHING). I personally unlearned that, and found that it was so much easier to place my focus on what actually mattered, which was the intention.
A LOT of you might disagree and that’s totally fine, but after all the reading I’ve done into older magick and practices outside of contemporary witchcraft, I realized we over complicate everything😭! YES lots of ancient magick heavily relied on correspondences, I will not deny that whatsoever. But I also found that most of the times, it was dangerous magick, of magick that meddled with spirits/deities/and beyond. Practitioners were not pulling out the stops for mundane magick (unless you’re reading the Picatrix😭).
I still use corresponding materials, I still do things under specific moons, as I think the universe means something, and the energies that everything holds, play a part. I wouldn’t do a spell on a day that opposes my intentions, but I’m also not going to fill a jar with 500 things. I also think it’s ok to do that if that’s what works for you!!
I could go on, but I’d rather make an actual post explaining my thought process! As always if you have a question, please ask. And if you disagree that’s ok! How you experience the universe is unique for everyone, and nobody experiences it the same!
Do magick how you’d like! This post and the future one is more of a precursor post to talk about how I do my magick. THIS is not related to my polytheism magick on the other hand. When working with deities, I prefer to use correspondences! Especially in rituals(which I don’t think anyone should just be doing willy-nilly kaos magick wise).
