Aug 6 - spent the day setting up my Steam Deck with its dock to work with my gaming monitor, keyboard, and mouse, as well as my old laptop to work with my secondary monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Gamed and then tweaked the setup and then gamed and tweaked the setup some more. Even using a powered USB bar with the minimum of things plugged into it, using the gaming stuff draws down the Deck battery faster than the charger can top it up. But I can play for several hours in my nice comfy computer chair without running out of power, so good enough.
And if i really don't want to stop playing, I can always just move the Deck over to its other dock, with my entirely portable bed tray setup. There the only things physically connected to the Deck's dpck is an external drive plus a (separately powered) portable monitor, and the charger handily beats out the drawdown. The keyboard and mouse for that are also gaming models, but wireless.
For supper I cooked burgers, fries, and corn-on-the-cob.
Aug 7 - mostly either gamed or read. Have moved on from tweaking the physical setup of the Deck's desk dock to virtual things like the desktop mode layout and assorted settings.
I'll probably get it perfected just in time to disconnect it to pack away with the portable setup for my next trip down to Toronto. It's looking like I'll be gone from Monday until Friday; my brother is working nights this coming week and the only northbound bus that arrives in Sudbury before he needs to be heading to work is the red-eye coming in at 7am. Asking him to make the trip in to pick me up after 12 hours on is just so much NO. So, some time Friday bus it is.
Wasn't ambitious tonight and it was a pretty cool day, so I hauled a tub of pea soup out of the freezer for supper. Had toast spread with artichoke & asiago dip with mine.
