The creep stopped being an issue once Adam swung hard enough, hitting with enough force to send the guy flailing back, pivoting as he went. From there, the man made a hasty exit, Adam shouting some choice words after him.

Swiping his fist over his jaw, Adam only succeeded in spreading the blood that came from his split lip, some of which he then spit out in an attempt to get the taste out of his mouth.

When he looked towards the girl he’d just busted in to rescue, the look to his eyes was all concern---he lacked all fury from moments before, and he just hoped the tender expression would ease any fears the woman had.

“You doin’ okay? He didn’t hurt you, did he?” Asked the one with the split lip, bloody knuckles, and a pain on his face that promised a black eye.
