A date. How the hell had Noelle Park wound up planning a date? That was the question she’d asked herself a million times. Truthfully, her emotions had gone through a bit of a rollercoaster since the night of the auction. First, and most shockingly, she’d felt warm. The veterinarian was positive that there was a better adjective to describe said emotion, but that’s the word she went with. The feeling spread throughout her body at the fact that Chloe had bid on a date with her. It was the same kind of feeling she’d felt when the woman visited her at the hospital. However, even though the warm feeling didn’t vanish, it was accompanied by complete and utter anxiety. Noelle had never planned a date. Truthfully, she’d never let things go that far. Sure, she and women had gone out to dinner before or things like that, but it was for nourishment purposes only. The vet had made sure to specifically shy away from the word date. Yet, there she was planning a date and not running in the opposite direction.
After freaking out to Ava and her brothers, the woman had calmed down some. While she still had no idea where things were going, it was undeniable that she felt something for Chloe. When that had happened she wasn’t sure, but the idea of hurting the event planner was uncomfortable. So, she planned a date. It probably would be seen as something wasn’t anything overly special to most, but it was Chloe. Knowing that the woman wanted to learn more about Noelle, North Korean traditional dishes were what what was on the menu. She’d spent the day prepping and getting Bibimpap and HotPot ready before tackling baking. Sugar cookies were not hard in theory, but man was cutting them into cute shapes a pain. Hers looked like little bears if she squinted, so that would be good enough.
Thanks to Noel volunteering to keep the food hot while she went to pick up Chloe, things were actually running on time. She’d picked a comfortable dress and had her flowers ready thanks to Noah. Both of her siblings were lovely, but she’d never say that too much. The drive was short and soon enough she was walking up the stairs to Chloe’s apartment. Noelle made a mental note that they should probably spend more time at the other woman’s too before knocking. “Hey Chlo,” she said when the door opened. “Are you ready to go? Oh, these are for you,” Noelle offered as she handed the flowers to Chloe. “I didn’t want to be too generic with roses, so I went with Camellia flowers. My brother Noah owns the flower shop, and we went through a ton of flower meanings before I picked this one.” She had no idea if that was too much information. Why did the word date make things more complicated? “You look beautiful.” That was easy though. Her eyes did still work.
