it fits in canon don't worry. etho started this thing called the death games to avenge his friend pause, who nebris (and mc and arkas) killed two times. so he owed nebris and mc two deaths each. he gave mc his but he held out on nebris, and basically still owes him one. but in the past two seasons, etho has started the death games as a server game, so their names are put in a chest and randomized. and whoever's name is in the chest, others in the game can go after them.

nebris, naturally, takes the death games pretty seriously.
