Trick or treat! 🎃❤️
Massaging the Bones
There are many traditional ways of attuning a tool to your energy and the intended work; especially in death work. Reddening or blackening bones is common; singing the spirit is as well. I have my own method I like to call Massaging the Bones.
Despite the name of the ritual, I actually do this process with with all my tools and especially objects I receive that have a spirit or will house a spirit (including divination tools like boards and Tarot decks!).
The supplies are as basic as your hands or as elaborate as you’d like. I like to create an almost spa-like atsmophere. I light candles, having some soothing scents ready, and pick out some calm music to play. I have a soft place for the object to rest before and after the massage. I like to wash and lightly lotion my hands beforehand (don’t leave any residue that’ll transfer!).
Take the object and gently examine it. Not in a clinical way, more in a way your greet a childhood toy. Become familiar with it again. This object was meant to be with you. Start with gentle soothing strokes and caresses. Softly raise your energy and let it flow through your hands as your caress the object. Let yourself be drawn to any areas of energy tension and work out those “knots”. This object should be a puddle of contentment energy-wise after this ritual!
Increase the strength of your massaging carefully; keep in mind what the physical object can handle safely and what the spirit of the object may prefer. Don’t get too rough! You can combine this with a Singing the Spirit ritual or even a reddening one (can be a soak after the massage!).
