A loud booming! The flash and crackle lightning! A sheet of rain falling forever. Visibility next to none. Six hours, six more hours and Rose could jump from this damned planet. She’d been running for the last five, from hiding place to hiding place. Soaked through to the bone and extremely grumpy, shivering because she hasn't had a chance to stop and concentrate on raising her internal body temperature. They’re constantly chasing her and they almost always seem to find her.
How was she supposed to know that pink skin was a death sentence on this planet! It’s not like she looks at a brochure before hitting the jump button on her Vortex Cannon! It’s a gamble. Every. Single. Jump. It’d been a while since she’d landed on one quite this bad though. Her head jolted up as she heard footsteps behind her, and her eyes widening when she saw the blue glow of electricity on these bastard guards’ tazer guns. What a cruel joke, they use electric based weapons in pouring down rain.
Spinning on her heel she darts off again, though not quite fast enough this time and catches one of their tazers in her side. Momentarily electrocuted and stunned she stumbles. But not long enough for them to catch her. No. She wasn't going to die just because she had pink fucking skin! Bolting down an alley to her right, hitting the end and taking a sharp left, then a right, then vaulting over a wall. She’s breathing heavily, her respiratory bypass absolutely no help by this point, and clasping at her side where that tazer bit into her.
Blindly leaning against a wall, she places her hand on a surface and instantly a small tingle lights up in her mind. Startled, she looks up and towards where her hand lay. Her wide eyes land on blue wood and square panels, causing a tingle to go up her arm. The TARDIS! Oh, how she’d missed her! Patting the side of the beloved time ship, she makes her way slowly and reverently to the front. She frowns a little at the emblem on the right side door, before smiling one of her brilliant smiles.
“‘ello ol’ girl,” she greeted the TARDIS fondly, stroking a finger down one of her handles. “Is it ever good ta see you again!” The familiar warm tingle in her mind, one she hadn't felt in a couple decades made her hearts leap in happiness and her head fill with love for the brilliant blue box. She shivered briefly, getting knocked back into reality when she hears shouting and footsteps.
Knowing that fumbling about with the insides of her Vortex Cannon to get her key right now was really not an option, she anxiously knocked on the door. Hoping the TARDIS would make the sound carry, she kept up the repetitive knocking, hearts leaping into her throat. Oh god, let the Doctor be in, please let him be in!
