Reinforcements That Transcend Time
Single Effect: Attack Up [45%] & Defense Pierce [45%] (Self / 1 Turn)
MLB Effect: Attack Up [50%] & Defense Pierce [50%] (Self / 1 Turn)
Attack Up will increase the equipped characterâs base stats, meaning that its effected is calculated before buffs/debuffs are considered. Itâs generally considered superior to Damage Up/Damage Inflicted Up, however, because there are so many sources of Attack Up in the game it can be easy to hit the cap of 100%.
Defense Pierce will allow the unit to ignore enemy defense on attack. This is useful for situations where the enemy unit has very high defense, often found in Challenge Modes, and can let you tear apart an otherwise fortified enemy. It follows that this effect is less useful when the enemy does not have a high amount of defense-- note that this will not have an effect on a character who has Damage Cut.
TLDR: âReinforcements That Transcend Timeâ is one of only two memoria to have the highest source of Attack Up in the game, and thatâs not even itâs only effect. The Defense Pierce transforms this limited memoria into a boss slayer. In fact, the Attack Up is so godly that youâll actually want to make sure you donât hit the 100% Attack cap when using it! This memoria is exclusive to the âThe Chiming Bell That Transcends Timeâ gacha. This is event memoria should be kept in case of a rerun.
Review: This powerful god-tier memoria is great if you want to instantly delete a character from the game (a slight exaggeration).
The two effects on âReinforcements That Transcend Timeâ synergize extremely well. Defense Pierce allows you to shred through enemies with high Defense with ease, and Attack Up, well, increases your Attack. Both combine to make a deadly memoria that will slaughter bosses like butter.
Until very recently, this was the highest source of Attack Up in the game. In fact, itâs still the highest source of Attack Up in the game at a maximum of 50%, it just now shares this prestigious title with another memoria, âSmall Light in the Corner of Townâ from the 2020 Halloween event. Both memoria are excellent in their own right, and honestly? Having either of these at a single copy isnât bad either. Forty-five percent Attack Up is still better than the highest unlimited source in the game, the three-star memoria âShe'll Definitely Be Happyâ which has a maximum of 40%. In fact, keeping several separate copies instead of having one semi-awakened copy is an excellent idea.
Thereâs also nuance to this memoria. For example-- if youâre a Whale, or just very lucky, there are different circumstances to use âReinforcements That Transcend Time,â âSmall Light in the Corner of Town,â and even another memoria in the form of âImage Training in the Server.â For comparisonâs sake:
(Limited 4*) âReinforcements That Transcend Timeâ Attack Up [50%] & Defense Pierce [50%] (Self / 1 Turn)
(Limited 4*) âSmall Light in the Corner of Townâ Attack Up [50%] & Charged Attack Damage Up [22.5%] (Self / 1 turn)
(Limited 4*) âImage Training in the Serverâ Attack Up [40%] & Critical Hit [35%] (Self / 1 Turn)
All three of these have very high Attack and last for one turn. What makes them different is their secondary effects. If youâre Whale enough to have all three, then the differences would be:
âReinforcements That Transcend Timeâ is good against enemies with high defense.
âSmall Light in the Corner of Townâ is good for using more than once (has a shorter cooldown) and for Charge teams or generic Charged attacks.
âImage Training in the Serverâ is good when youâre facing an enemy with high HP and low DEF. Because Critical Hit will make your equipped unit do double damage, this one has potential to do more damage than the other two... but Critical Hit also isnât assured, given that here itâs only a 35% chance when max awakened.
Outside of comparing âReinforcements That Transcend Timeâ to other Whale-Tier memoria, one does what to keep in mind that this memoria is excellent on enemies with High Defense and loses some of that on enemies with lower Defense. 50% Attack Up is still powerful though-- however, that also comes with an issue.Â
Keep in mind that Attack Up has a 100% cap. Itâs not as easy to reach as Blast Damage Up, but itâs also easier to reach than other capped effects. For example, equipping a character with something like âTo Grace with Asterâ and âEveryday Overflowing with Prideâ along with activating âReinforcements That Transcend Timeâ will have you right at that 100% cap.
In fact, this isnât an issue only Whales need to worry about. Even if you donât have those two memoria in their fully awakened state, itâs still possible to go over the cap. Letâs say you have a single copy of âReinforcements That Transcend Time,â so itâs only 45% Attack Up and not 50%. If you have the easily acquired Manaka Kurumi at five stars, then youâll also have access to the highest source of Attack Up in a Connect in the game. Manaka gives 45% Attack Up-- pair her connect with this memoria, and youâre already 10% away from hitting the cap. This doesnât take into account your passive memoria, second active, any present buffs from Magia/Doppel, or even the formation that youâre using.
This is to say that you want to be mindful when you use this memoria. If you have some passive Attack Up memoria already equipped, then using âReinforcements That Transcend Timeâ on top of an Attack Up connect on top of a second Attack Up active memoria isnât just overkill, itâs wasteful. Try and spread them out instead of loading them all on one turn.
If youâre looking to increase your damage, instead look at memoria with effects like Damage Up, Damage Increase, or Critical Hit. Other possibilities, depending on your strategy, include Charged Attack Damage Up, Blast Damage Up, Defense Down, or even indirect ways such as using Status Ailments that make the enemy take an 80% increase to their weak element.
Overall? Whale-Tier, God-Tier memoria. If you manage to snag this then rejoice, because you have been blessed. This will be incredible on Supports, naturally.
