My Top 100 Ships of All Time:

Ships that still hit me as hard as the first time, to whom I will always come back, even decades later, because their interaction actually is one big reason for me to relive the media they are in. Those are the ones on this list. It was a tough, because I know pretty much everything, thank you very much. We have finally reached the top quarter of this list. My Top 25 Favorite Ships of all Time. No more mucking around here, this is serious.

While we were watching Season 3 my brother randomly announced: "Wait! It's Season 3! Mick has a chance to finally get Ray!" Which was fair because in both of the mothershows Season 3 was the season in which the heroes finally got together with their main love interests. However as we know Season 3 of "Legends of Tomorrow" did introduce Nora Darhk as a new love interest for Ray, with whom he would eventually end up with, while Mick got several love interests of his own in the next three seasons until he settled down as well. So, I guess, Mick waited too long and should have made a move prior to Season 3. Now you might think that Atomwave was just a crackship we had in common, but for me it was much more. I put it in pretty much all my Arrowverse-Fanfics to some extend and did see it as very real. This is because we had some real relationship developement going on here, starting in Season 1, blossoming in Season 2 and still going on in Season 3. Mick and Ray started out not likeing each other very much, but became real close over time, becoming partners, and finally real friends. As "Legends" was an ensemble-show with an ever evolving and growing cast their screentime together did lessen over the course of Season 3 to 5, however the actors still found moments in which they reminded the audience that those two are pretty close, even if the scripts didn't (I always like it when actors know their character better than everyone else and show this in small ways instead of yelling at everyone). Of course we all know that the main meat was their in Season 2, but love is forever, is it not? So, yeah, even if they never got together, that doesn't mean there wasn't something going on, it just means they took a wrong turn somewhere on the road. And we can asked ourselves what would have happened if they would have taken the right turn.

22. Atomwave (Ray Palmer/Mick Rory) (Legends of Tomorrow, Arrowverse)

time aberration: another time traveller sets off a massive bomb from the even further future in the future at the palmer estate. they don't have much information because they're just going off "bomb levelled half of north america" rather than researching whose house they're sneaking into, and also because gideon doesn't think it's a great idea to give them too much info about anybody's future selves unless it's essential to the mission. so they all rock up to rebecca palmer's fiftieth birthday party without knowing that's the occasion, just that it's at the palmer estate so they're guessing future ray is the host. and as they're discussing how to get inside, because there's a guest list, ray is just like "wait a second. if future me is here, he would remember all of this happening from my side, right? and he'd want to help us out. 'cause otherwise he dies tonight in a time aberration." and just drags everyone straight up to the front door and sure enough they're all on the guest list, though the bouncer gives ray and mick slightly weird looks. and they all fan out to scope the area, and ray's job is to stay as far out of the way as possible, probably near the back exit so that their mark can't sneak out, and that's when sara spots rebecca and immediately clocks her as a rich woman who looks like she belongs there, so she can probably help them/give them information. and she's like "i'm going to seduce her" because obviously that's the best way of getting information. and she sidles up to rebecca and starts laying it on thick, until mick comes up and is like "hey, the fuck you think you're doing with my wife" and sara is so startled by that that she's just kind of standing there and staring as rebecca tells her to have a good night and mick pulls her away. (comms "well, whoever that lady is, she's future mick's wife" mick "WHAT? you're telling me i marry some prissy rich girl that drags me along to shit like this? no fucking way")

and then rebecca slips away from mick again and just ever so casually escapes into the back where ray is hiding, you know, pretending that she's just getting some fresh air

“too noisy in there for you as well?”

“aha, yeah, i’ve never really liked big parties”

“mm. i felt the same at your age. i always felt like i was constantly putting on a show, and it was exhausting, and nobody ever saw me for who i was.”

“…what changed?”

“i figured out who i wanted to be.”

“…do i know you?”

“oh, no, not yet.”

“hopefully, you will soon” and she winks and goes back inside…

bunch of baddies show up at the party to kidnap rebecca. but they’re just like “you’re coming with us, palmer” and ray’s like “okay” and they’re like “who the fuck are you? we mean *her”* and ray’s like “oh okay. What”

rebecca: oh, no, i wouldn’t, if i were you

guy: don’t worry, we already took care of your little husband. so you’re coming with us if you know what’s good for you

rebecca: oh, you *really* don’t know who you’re dealing with

she quickly ties her hair up and just turns to ray and goes “ray, tell the rest of your team to get all of the civilians clear, now. i can take care of myself” and he’s like “i’ll tell them, but i’m not leaving you here alone” and she just goes “ah, i knew you’d say that”

oh idea. i was thinking they would fight perfectly in sync but what’s more accurate is that they keep stepping on each other’s toes trying to do the same thing at the same time

and then at some point rebecca takes a big hit for ray and he’s like wow 😍 and then gets whacked and she catches him before he hits the floor and he’s like *wow* 😳 i think i’m either in love with you or want to be you and she just laughs

future mick runs in after the main fighting is done. and ray just assumes it’s his mick because future mick doesn’t look *that* different and future mick just goes “HAIRCUT” and ray’s like “yeah?” but no. he barrels past him and grabs rebecca and starts making sure she’s okay instead. and ray’s just staring like oh. *oh*

mick absolutely still calls his wife haircut. it’s just a different haircut

like at first he goes "but *i'm* the only one mick calls haircut :(" and then "...i'm the only one mick calls haircut" and then "oh my god I'M THE ONLY ONE MICK CALLS HAIRCUT"

also future mick medically transitioned but didn’t change his name or pronouns or anything and so is basically exactly the same but with big tits 👍 however everyone keeps confusing him for present mick anyway so

future mick gets frustrated like "LOOK AT THE TITS, PEOPLE. I WORKED HARD FOR THESE DAMN TITS AND YOU KEEP ACTING LIKE THEY'RE NOT EVEN THERE!"

Ray and Mick are soulmates. That doesn’t mean much – until it does.
