Additional good news: my baby monarch caterpillars are now big enough that their li'l bunny ears have come in!!!!

Monarch babies are doing well and growing up big and strong 💕 these two come from eggs laid at the same time, but one hatched a few days before the other. Here she is showing her younger sister how to eat a tasty milkweed pod:

I planted some swamp milkweed and whorled milkweed in my garden to help encourage the monarch butterfly population; as monarchs are in decline and their ONLY host plant is milkweed. Last week, I saw two tiiiny monarch hatchlings... but they're good at hiding and staying safe, and I couldn't find them again til today.

whomst else cries when they see cute things?? I'm weepin at Nature on PBS rn bc they keep showin these li'l pikas who live in Yosemite 😍😭
