These are some notes and concepts for a contest being held by Atomhawk, revolving around the theme "Solarpunk". My idea is that due to pollution and climate change the land becomes more barren and solar power becomes the trend. On top of this, a legacy of bioengineers attempt to create partially photosynthetic humans since food supply has dropped.

I keep drifting from Solarpunk themes into Hopepunk themes!

This is my character/Key moment entry to Atomhawk's Solarpunk contest, along with my process. The scenario I posed is below: Pollution and climate change goes largely unchecked for another century or so, and as a result ice caps melt and the sea level rises. The rising water floods farms and other low-lying areas resulting in a food shortage and oil shortage, and the air becomes somewhat toxic. Society switches over to solar power but in order to address the food crisis a private team of bioengineers are tasked with creating photosynthetic humans, and in the course of several decades the first successful Plantarian is created from the cells of the leading scientist.
