Co-op horror game Beyond the Dark: Nightwatch announced for Switch 2 - Gematsu
Atlantis Studio, the France-based studio co-founded by Ready at Dawn co-founder Ru Weerasuriya, has announced cooperative horror game Beyond the Dark: Nightwatch. It will launch exclusively for Switch 2 in 2026.
Here is an overview of the game, via Atlantis Studio:
About
Beyond the Dark: Nightwatch is a two-player shared horror experience built around asymmetrical collaboration. In Beyond the Dark: Nightwatch, communication is the only thing standing between survival and darkness. One player wakes up alone inside a strange, deeply unsettling house haunted by something lurking in the shadows. Escaping will not be easy, but this is not a solo experience: a second player must guide, interpret, and coordinate the first player’s actions from a different perspective.
Escape Together
Separated by perspective but bound by a shared objective, both players must talk, strategize, and react in real time to the horrors around them. The cooperative horror experience Beyond the Dark: Nightwatch turns communication into both your greatest strength and your biggest risk. Clear instructions can save you. Misunderstandings can doom you.
Key Features
True Two-Player Cooperative Horror – A gameplay loop built from the ground up exclusively for two players. You cannot survive this house alone.
Asymmetric Exploration – Combine information from completely different perspectives to understand the house, solve its mysteries, and escape.
Atmospheric Haunted Environment – Explore a deeply unsettling, claustrophobic house filled with anomalies, secrets, and unseen threats.
Communication-Driven Escape – Success demands constant dialogue. Deliver clear instructions, warn each other of incoming danger, and coordinate every move to survive.

Experience the Thrill of One Boss One Fight: A Unique Action Roguelike
One Boss One Fight is an action roguelike game that now has sights on Linux with Mac and Windows PC, plus a Demo. Thanks to the creative minds at Atlantis Studio. Available for all to try now on Steam. One Boss One Fight (OBOF) flips the usual action roguelike formula on its head. Instead of the typical dungeon crawling or exploring, you’re thrown straight into one high-stakes battle — against Death itself. That’s right, this game is all about mastering one intense, fast-paced boss fight. Each phase ramps up the difficulty, due to make every round more challenging as you learn and adapt. And it's also working to evolve into a native port.
One Boss One Fight is built in Unity, so it’s something that should be doable. I’m currently focused on the launch planned for late November, but I’m eyeing a possible Linux build release after the initial launch, likely sometime in December, early 2025.
Atlantis Studio mentioned that a native build is definitely on their radar. However, they want to make sure everything works smoothly on other platforms first before jumping into Linux. I completely get that — I'd much rather see a developer take their time than rely on just Proton.
One Boss One Fight - Gameplay Trailer
In One Boss One Fight, it’s not about grinding through levels or discovering new areas. It’s about focusing entirely on the ultimate showdown. You’re up against one boss, but that fight gets more complex and intense with every phase. You’ll also need strategy, quick reflexes, and a solid understanding of the battle’s mechanics to come out on top.
Here’s what makes One Boss One Fight stand out:
Progression on the Fly: Throughout the battle, you’ll unlock new abilities and power-ups, keeping things fresh. Whether you’re summoning a giant hammer or throwing out a barrage of arrows, each upgrade gives you new ways to fight back. You’re in control of how you tackle the battle.
Benedictions: As you fight, mini-bosses will drop “benedictions”—special passive abilities that can really shake up the fight. These range from chipping away at Death’s health to altering how the battle plays out. There are 16 of these to discover in One Boss One Fight, so there’s always something new to try.
Multiple Phases, Growing Challenges: The fight against Death isn’t just a straight brawl. You’ll go through several phases, each adding new hazards and mechanics. What starts in a peaceful meadow could end in a fiery hellscape, with meteors falling or floors shifting beneath you. The environment itself becomes part of the challenge.
Skill-Based Combat: OBOF is all about precision. Death’s attacks are telegraphed, meaning you can see them coming, but reacting in time is the key. This is a game where mastery comes from learning patterns and staying one step ahead.
The Demo Is Live!
The One Boss One Fight demo is out now on Steam, and over 1,000 players have already added it to their wishlist. The feedback has been amazing, helping to shape updates and improvements. In the demo, you can jump into a slice of that final boss battle to see just how intense it gets. The full release is aimed for late November, and look forward to see how many of you are ready to take on Death.
Ready for a Bigger Challenge?
If you’re the type who like extra difficulty, One Boss One Fight has a Hard Mode, called Pact of Death. After beating the boss once, you’ll unlock this game mode, which lets you crank up the difficulty with added hazards like blizzards or thunderstorms. It’s the ultimate test for players looking to push their skills even further.
What’s Coming Next?
As we get closer to the One Boss One Fight launch, more updates and refinements are on the way. Thanks to community feedback. If you haven’t already, given the action roguelike demo a shot, it plays well on Linux via Proton-GE. Also be sure to throw it on your Steam Wishlist. It's heading to Linux after Mac, and Windows PC launch in November 2024.
