you know what I've been thinking about for the past few days is like. iroh atla, as a very flawed man and a link in the chain of generational trauma, because it recently occurred to me that. like.
like iroh is an incredible firebender right. but at no point in the show do we see him displaying the sheer power azula or ozai does, his mastery comes significantly more from his flexibility and creativity and willingness to learn from unconventional sources (most notably the dragons and waterbenders). and while its possible thats just a choice he makes because of the destructive nature of fire, i really don't think it is, i think he grew up having to find ways to supplement his training to keep up with his prodigy younger brother.
