robin was upset about /whatever/ and so steve was talking it out with her, and after, they stand up and hug. it's nice for a second, then: steve: why are you suddenly taller than me.
robin: wdym im always this tall
steve then proceeds to fumble his foot around until he finds hers, where she is indeed standing on tiptoe
this is literally so funny to me and its something i could see robin doing
"And it's just like, if you need me to play this extra part, I can do that. You just need to like actually tell me?" Robin has been talking five miles a second about an issue with the Hawkins theater department. Steve has been listening and chiming in wherever she stops to breathe or drink the bottle of water that sits on the Family Video counter.
"You can't play three different characters that are on stage at the same time, can you? That feels kind of impossible. Aren't people going to recognize you as the other people too?"
Robin looks at him before collapsing her body to lay fully on the counter. "Damn, I knew I forgot about something." She sighs and Steve takes a second to look at his best friend. Its the first shift all week that they've actually worked together.
So all Steve does is open his arms and kick her leg, gently.
And Robin looks at him for a second before nodding and tucking into Steve's side.
That's when he notices it. She is standing at least an inch or so taller than Steve and that is not right.
He squints at her. "Why are you taller than me all of a sudden?"
He can see her try and hold back a giggle. "I do not know what you are talking about, Steven."
He glares with the knowledge that when she uses that name, she's fucking with him in some way. So he tucks her closer to his side anf tries to wiggle his feet closer to hers. He manages to almost trip both of them, but in the end, he finds her foot and finds her heels inches off the ground.
"Liar."
And Robin breaks down laughing and Steve has to stifle his own laughter.
