Does an atheist think practically? (Ver. 4.0)
There was a time when I used to be a person who cannot control its overthinking, and that is mainly because of the emotional factors that won't let me accept the truth or forget about something. After falling multiple times due to this, I was able to generate control over it and able to control my emotions a lot now. And I feel like that doing so I can enjoy more and can easily pass through difficult times.Â
I began to think why people are not able to control their emotions, and they take actions emotionally, and there are a set of people who can control it and take steps more practically or rationally. And how these two different types of people approach life. In what conditions someone can break that emotional boundary or when someone cannot get away from the power of emotion. How can someone be able to take control of his/her mind?Â
After that, I started to question everything that I do. Whether doing something is necessary or how anything will change the outcome and began to take actions accordingly and not just because of what I like and don't like or rather emotionally. And i.e. when I questioned the existence of GOD. And thinking this way, really helped me to kinda figure out my life.
I questioned whether an atheist thinks practically in other situations as well or it's just for the matter with GOD. Whether they are the better person to seek guidance or they are only some fools. I think if someone converts into an atheist that means he/she had to fight a lot with its emotions and to come over from all the fear that is related to god and think rationally and question it and then decide what he/she trusts. I think to take action like this someone has undergone a lot of situations not only with relation to god but other things also that has led his/her mindset to think in this way. So are they living with a better mindset or what?
Just like every other thing, there's a flip side of atheism or practical thinking. Where people use these as a blanket to cover their wrongdoings maybe, or as an excuse, they use it to defend them and to ignore the things they don't want to do.
Are all atheists do like this. Do they take advantage of it or they mean it. Is it trendy because the number of it is increasing? Is it easy to be an atheist than to follow a religion? Is being practical losing its value and becoming a negative thing?
Can a person survive with only practical thinking? Will, there be a time when this will convert into a lot of burdens, or does it help in overcoming every situation. How radically does it affect someone decision making? How drastically does it change someone decision making?
