Hola! I've finally been able to read the new MOVEMENT entries, and I think with this new era a new journey begins for both sides, ateez-black pirates.

So, I want to write down my thoughts here ☺️

! REMINDER: These are some first thoughts, possibly I’m quite wrong at first, I just want to present everything that I have understood about the story for this comeback.

FEVER: the movie

Cold air whipped his face , hair blown back by his speed . Clouds of white left his lips , gasps for air burning his lungs . It was cold , too cold for anyone to be running . 

Crowds of people were shoved , all giving him dirty looks but Yunho couldn’t care less--though he still muttered soft apologies under his breath --his shaky pupils dancing behind pillars and between faces , trying to make out where his brother was.

His brother.

Why ? Why , why,  why had Yunho told the teachers . How could he have been so stupid that he betrayed his own brother . Now Hongjoong was gone and he didn’t know where . 

The docks were bare of anyone matching Hongjoong’s distinct features. He stopped , skidding and sliding against the ice glazed wooden floors where snow was beginning to collect . 

His head whipped around , desperate and longing . His heart ached , pounding in his ears and his eyes only recognised blurs of faces passing him , all going along and pushing him back as they made their way home to families , passing by and moving away from the docks

Yunho’s eyes teared as he slackened , a sigh leaving his lips involuntarily . 

It was empty now . How long had he been standing ? How long had he been lost in his thoughts and the sea of emotions that was going to drown him . Tears threatened to spill , a growing wave about to overwhelm him . His knees wanted to sink and his palms seemed more fit than ever to bury his face into .

What had he done ? What had he done ? Guilt ate his heart as Yunho nibbled on his trembling lower lip , knees slowly falling to the ground .

There was a thud as he shook , finally on his knees before the sea . The dock ended right before him , leading off into the ocean .

“Oh hyung,” his lips trembled more and his face crumpled as he lowered his head , sobbing . A great , guttaral cry left his lips , taking the form of his brother’s name.

He sobbed  . Until his throat was too hoarse , he sobbed . And until his eyes were too wet , he sobbed . Until , his face was as red as his hair , he sobbed. He lost his brother . He lost his compass and his dream. Now where was he supposed to go ?

“You’re...You’re Jeong Yunho , right” he gasped for air , head rising shakily . There was a boy before him , looking down with a frown and furrowed eyebrows. Resting on his lower lip was the straw of the banana milk he must have had been sipping.

Yunho sniffled , wiping his tears with the sleeve of his shirt before nodding. The boy pulled the banana milk away , lowering himself into a kneel as well . He was much smaller than Yunho , looking much more child-like too.

“Are you okay ? I’m-I’m Choi San . We-uh...We go to the same school? Same year too...” he mumbled , gulping . Yunho simply stared , eyes tearing again . A lock of San’s black hair fell in his face as he bowed softly in greeting .

Yunho couldn’t bring himself to bow back . He was numb. He was in pain . he was everything and nothing because he was lost.

San tensed a cheek , visibly worried as Yunho lowered his eyes. He didn’t know what this boy wanted and he didn’t want anything to do with it. Yunho just wanted what he couldn’t have. He wanted his treasured brother. His lost brother.  No words could describe how precious Hongjoong was to him.

“I saw a boy,” Yunho’s head shot up , eyes wide and alert . His ears perked instantly , startling San who gulped back the shock . The black haired boy nodded .

“He was running . Shorter than the two of us , blue hair-”

“Where did he go ?” Yunho’s hands dwarfed San , pushing his shoulders back as his fiery eyes unknowingly demanded an answer from the boy . San gulped again , slowly and softly pushing Yunho back.

“Behind the old stalls,”San answered , not quite shaken . His eyes looked over Yunho’s shoulders. Hands trembling at the news , Yunho shakily turned his head to see where his brother had went.

No. Not there. Anywhere but there.

His head whipped back to face San .

“Are-Are you sure ? Behind the old stalls ?”  Yunho gulped . San nodded solemnly , truth in his eyes . Yunho whimpered as the boy continued , straightening himself as Yunho’s grasp loosened.

“He was headed towards the alley . He was a little clumsy but he was determined , alright . He must have crossed passed the alley by now,”  San added. Yunho’s eyes burned with fear and anger . 

“And you watched ? You didn’t try to stop him-” 

“Well what was I supposed to do ? There’s a reason no one enters that place , Yunho. The old witches-”

“I know. I know.” Yunho glared , shutting him up . It was wrong to snap at someone who was helping him for no reason but Yunho couldn’t help it. He was terrified. The witches , they cast spells on that place to protect it . From what , he didn’t know . No one knew. People said it led to the underworld , to different dimensions.

Yunho sighed , rubbing his temples and frowned as he thought . If Hongjoong had run behind the stalls , it meant he didn’t have much time . Especially if San said he would have crossed the alleys. 

But what business would he have down there ? Yunho gulped as San spoke , cautious .

“If...If you really want to go , I may have something that can help you,” Yunho turned softly , tears nearly dried to see San dig in his pockets and pull a necklace. The boy smiled proudly.

“Only two people in the world have it. Me and someone else. It’s enchanted , you see. My mother gave it to me,” he reached his hands out--the necklace in his palms--towards Yunho who examined it . The dark part of his mind scoffed , speaking ill of anyone who believed such nonsense.

But Yunho had seen the magical before , he was no fool to say magic didn’t exist.

“My mother...she dabbled in the craft.” San whispered , confessing what kind of child he was. A child of a witch . Yunho looked up , not at all afraid of the small boy . Though , with the revelation , San’s hair did seem darker. His skin paler. His eyes gloomier.

San nudged the necklace towards him again . Yunho reached with careful hands, slowly pulling it around his neck and fastening it safe . The silver plate , on which something was scribbled in what must have been a foreign  language , seemed to glow , humming softly in the quiet of the night . Yunho was lulled by its beauty , everything else burring as he focused on the charm. Then the waves crashed particularly loudly , sending his head up to look back at where San was supposed to be  , a thank you leaving his lips but not reaching the boy.

Because the boy was gone . 

Yunho’s eyebrows knitted as he stood , knees hurting and legs aching as he searched for any sign of the black haired boy.

Hola! Since ATEEZ just announced their next comeback in July, I think it’s a good time to bring back the ateezverse! ⏳

In this post I'm going to present the typical questions that people can have when they want to know more about Ateez's music video world.

❗️ Remember that I don’t work for KQent so this is all information I gathered from diary notes. I will use blue for my personal opinion.

Part 1. { fever series - masterpost }

Hello! Welcome to a short guide for ateez cinematic universe ~ or how I call it: ateezverse. You may be new to the fandom or just genuinely interested in ateez storyline. That’s fine! It’s a little bit confusing not gonna lie, but! I can try my best for you to understand the basic background 🌿

Let me introduce you the plot:

Our world is fragmented in multiple dimensions and realities. You can travel through them with a cromer (⌛️) which can also send messages through dreams depending on the moon phase.

Okay! That’s the plot line of this multiverse. Now let’s introduce the main characters:

CHARACTERS

ATEEZ | BLACK PIRATES

CENTRAL GOVERMENT | AI GUARDIANS

There are more secondary characters, but the names listed above are the main characters you should know first.

ATEEZ: here ateez are a group of young boys who meet at a warehouse where they hang out and forget about their personal problems for a moment.

CENTRAL GOVERNMENT: this government rules in an utopian world that takes place somewhere in the future after an industrial revolution. Because of it they create an IA system to make everything in this world predictable and monitored, the only thing they found unpredictable were human feelings. To stop this variable they forbid all kind of entertainment (music, dance etc) so they can oppress human emotions and make them controlled living machines.

BLACK PIRATES: we knew them as hala halas at the beginning but they actually have a name. They are a group of rebels against the tyrant central government that try to irrupt the utopian world by introducing music and entertainment to the city. They are considered an anomaly and are put on a wanted list, however they are hard to catch since they own a cromer⏳ and can travel through dimensions with it. They were previously called the “black fedora men” too.

AI GUARDIANS: These creatures are android humanoids built by the central government to capture the black pirates and the cromer. They don’t have a face and previously got named “white-masked man” or “masked-clad giant”

DIARY ENTRIES

During Fever series, in the diary version of each album, we get to see notes from ATEEZ and the situation they are living.

Fever part.1 - Every member struggles with own insecurities and personal problems. We know there is an intense fight involving Jongho and Mingi, and later the warehouse is closed causing the group to distance themselves.

Meanwhile, in what seems to be a dream, Hongjoong meets a “black fedora man” who tends him an hourglass ⌛️ and tells him that this item “connects the world”. A little dazed by the sudden intrusion Hongjoong asks for explanation, but “the black fedora man” disappears and the cromer starts shining. In that moment the rest of Ateez enters the room and they all travel to another dimension.

Fever part.2 - Because of them having the cromer now, the guardians find them and go after them.

While running away they meet other characters along the journey that confronted the central government and were punished instead (Left eye + Grimes Siblings, whom we never see in their MVs). Now more than ever ATEEZ are willing to destroy the utopian dimension.

However, the ai guardians find them while they are resting and steal the cromer from them. At the same time, the black pirates are captured too so they seem to have all under their control. After some discussions and collecting information, ATEEZ are told to go to ia guardian’s bunker to get the cromer back. This place is in the middle of an island, and when they arrive they see ai guardians drunk by the smoke from burning memories of people, their “energy”.

- Fever part.3: they finally meet the “black fedora men” in the bunker, they are trapped in what looks like a glass prison. They succeed to free them and get the cromer back thanks to Yeosang who separates from the group to look after it. He gives the cromer ⏳ to Hongjoong but is suddenly caught by one of the ai guardians.

The guardian wants to exchange Yeosang’s life for the cromer. Hongjoong agrees but when the exchange is about to take place, Yeosang grabs the cromer and turns it the other side while the guardians chase him. He breaks it on purpose as he sees himself being dragged to another dimension with the guardians while ateez are dragged back to their dimension.

GREAT! This is what we know from the diary notes during Fever series. But on the other side, this is the easiest part of the story as it is just the beginning.

I think knowing this part is really important to know the dynamic between ateez/black pirates and who the real enemy is here. The rest is still to be connected, although we now know that the reason Yeosang is trapped in the glass prison is probably because the guardians put him there. And in say my name ATEEZ ask help to themselves as Black Pirates to save Yeosang.

I’ll update and change things as soon as the plot also gets updated. And I’m thinking on doing a master post analyzing kingdom performances too, so I’m sorry if this takes longer 🥺🧡 and if I got something wrong I’m sorry, I had to resume a lot of information so maybe I missed something.

hi hello hola amigos! I was talking to my friend about some possibilities for ateezverse related to dreams/reality, and I think it would be nice to share it here.

Disclaimer: this is a fan theory, it is NOT canon. I could be 99% wrong (and probably am lol)

Our world is fragmented in multiple dimensions and realities. You can travel through them with a cromer (⌛️) which can also send messages through dreams depending on the moon phase.

We’ve been told that there are many dimensions, so I take it as if we should think of the possibility of MVs being dreams and not dimensions. Pretty sure many people already thought of it, because welp flying stuff and people tend to not be very normal in reality. (neither is dimension-traveling but not the point)

I’m going to take inspiration basically from Christopher Nolan’s movie: inception.

Before I start with my theory, I’m going to make it clear which ones are the MVs I consider dreams and which ones are reality/dimensions:

DREAMS: inception // eternal sunshine // dreamers // wave // illusion // utopia // (turbulence)

DIMENSIONS: Diary film // Dejavu // Say My Name // treasure // answer

If there is a MV missing, is probably because I’m not 100% sure about it.

Why do I think some MVs are dreams? First thing, because again: flaying stuff is not normal. And this is something that also happens in Christopher Nolan’s movie. When we see things around flying, it means that the dream is being disrupted by the dreamer. I don’t know if this applies to ateezverse but it could be a possibility.

Another item connecting the movie and this universe is the radio, which is supposed to help members of a dream to control through music how deep they are in the dream. I made a post about this here.

Later in inception MV I understand that members are realizing how sharing dreams work. In this MV they are angry and afraid, not capable of understand how a dream can feel so real. They try to wake up, but it’s on loop and they are still very weak to do so.

“On a dream, our mind continuously does this: we create and perceive our world simultaneously - our mind does it so well that we don’t even know what’s happening” - inception movie scene.

Why do they have this dreams? The cromer could make them go through them before going to a dimension. Which could mean: to pass from their own reality, the go through inception/eternal sunshine to end up in fireworks (I know it’s a little bit weird, I’m not really confident on this one but…)

When is a MV a dimension/reality? Well this one is simple: the ai guardian making their cameo. Because they are no humans, and they can’t dream. And we know that they are following ateez through dimensions, not dreams. ~ 💭

However the black pirates CAN appear in dreams, it was confirmed multiple times, they send ateez their message through them.

Dejavu has no ai guardian - True, neither does the diary film. However the things taking place in both videos are explicitly included in the Fever notes.

As ateez keep on traveling through dimensions, they will reach different levels of dreamings. At the same time, this could make them loose part of their memories, which is hinted in different songs. That would be also the reason why we are getting the notes.
