Dark Energy
I have just returned from a seminar on dark matter by an astronomer Anne Pellerin Ph.D. She has personally met Brian P. Shmidt, a post-doctoral research associate at Harvard University, who is the person who discovered this dark matter theory. He did this working with others such as Nicholas B. Suntzeff, on the High-Z Supernova Search Team. He has deduced this theory by studying supernovae far away from us and experienced exponentially growing distance between points.
Apparently data shows that the universe is expanding exponentially. It is performing accelerating growth, by the particles between everything, to create new particles, which form new particles, ect... 1 particle forms 2, 2 particles form 4, 4 particles form 8, 8 particles form 16 and so forth.
It seems to us that galaxies are getting farther apart, and the ones furthest from the center of the universe(or own milky way galaxy) are accelerating even faster away. Now don't get this wrong, galaxies do not have a velocity, it is the negative pressure effect that accelerates and moves these large clusters of gas and particles in a 3D space-frame. With further distance between points. This means that particles between us are becoming more numerous and more dense, which in turn pushes neighboring particles to move outwards. The more particles you have in between(distance between two points is in relation to the amount of particles in between two objects) the faster it can move away.
Einstein had discovered the formula that accounts for the rate of expansion of the universe, amazing guy. Yet at that time, we "knew" the universe was static. So he added a constant in his equation to change it to match the "static" behavior of the universe. This was known as his "biggest blunder" as we know now his original equation was correct.
Theoretically at some point the universe will expand so fast that all will seem black, dark. This will be due to the universe expanding at an increased rate, faster then the constant c(speed of light - 3x10^8 m/s). The universe began as a singularity(one single particle) that was so hot and dense that a great explosion of energy(which equals all the energy contained in every particle in the universe) accounting for the conservation of energy theory, pushed everything outward infinitely. Now this leaves me to believe.. if we are infinitesley expanding, wouldn't there be some form of energy creation?
Dark energy must account for this. We theorize that is is a heavy particle, but we are uncertain of anything about it. We only know that it does exist. That there is some form of energy unbeknowst to us that creates this acceleration of growth in the universe. There must be some energy out there that perhaps has not ever been discovered. We are close to discovering this new energy/particle, or whatever it may be. Perhaps a new form of consistency all together.
In conclusion, a singularity expended from hot, and formed masses as it cooled(planets, stars, galaxies) and gravitational forces hold it together. There is still constant expanding in the universe, infinite creation that pushes everything farther apart. The universe as we know it in perhaps another 20 billion years will shape more into a parabola, and may become more and more cool and dark. We can only speculate and theorize on the fact because it is not currently happening(so no quantitative experimentation). Time will tell.
