English reading Asterix fans to my rescue: what does Obelix’s mom nickname him?
I rewatched Asterix vs Caesar (1985) a few weeks ago and in it, it’s stated that Panacea is the Chief’s niece, but in the book she’s Soporforix’s daughter, who I’m thinking of headcanoning as Impedimentia’s brother. Which makes Justforkix her cousin on Vitalstatistix’s side. I think? It’s late and I’m bad at family trees :(
Somehow Panacea and Justforkix are cousins.
Speaking of family trees- I’ve decided that Anticlimax, Asterix’s 1st cousin once removed, is at least 10 years older than him. According to the fanwiki, Anticlimax is Astronomix’s (Asterix’s father) 1st cousin and that sounds about right. The resemblance is uncanny XD
My heacanon for Asterix not minding that he is short (even though his opponents and even his friends love to remind him) is that he has seen his dad be excellent at being a warrior, gets along very well with him and admires him a great deal.
He has his insecurities. Being short never made it on the list, simply because he has been shown it doesn't matter much for the goals he wants to achieve.
(will be away for the weekend, and for some reason my head wants to write the ending and the middle of this fic, rather than the beginning, but I will be getting there with updates)
Got some super lovely comments on my story Flight Risk and yes, writing teen Asterix was a blast. I have never felt more guilty towards a fictional parent in my life though. Poor Astronomix…
