Dan Carney, the man behind Astronauts, established himself in 2014 with the runaway success of his single, Skydive, which he followed with a debut LP, Hollow Ponds, that further showcased his talents as a compelling songwriter and visionary producer, effortlessly complementing lovely acoustic melodies with unexpected electronic trappings. Civil Engineer is the first single from the new album, End Codes.

A tune that champions the Civil Engineer (my dad would be happy to hear this one and appreciative too) from atmospheric pop troubadour Dan Carney who under the avatar of Astronauts delivers a dreamy acoustic composition.. Let’s start into this new work week with “Civil Engineer”, a beautifully repetitive and soothing song, with charming harmonies, stacked programmed drums and defined acoustic guitar lines. “Civil Engineer”, our Song Pick of the Day, comes from Astronauts. (aka Dan Carney) who released his debut album “Hollow Ponds" in 2014 and is currently preparing his second record. If “Civil Engineer” is any indication, we can very much looking forward to “End Codes”, which comes out in April:
